Diplomacy: Russia Claims They Were in Touch With Trump Political Team During Election

Our Premier President-elect is establishing healthy communication channels with our comrades in Russia, it seems.

The bedraggled team at Reuters is reporting that Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov and other Russian officials were in communication with Trump’s people:

There were contacts,” Interfax cited Ryabkov as saying. “We are doing this and have been doing this during the election campaign.”

Such contacts would continue, he added, saying the Russian government knew and had been in touch with many of Trump’s closest allies. He did not name names.

“Obviously, we know most of the people from his (Trump’s)entourage. Those people have always been in the limelight in the United States and have occupied high-ranking positions,” he said.

“I cannot say that all of them, but quite a few have been staying in touch with Russian representatives.”

Moscow was just beginning to consider how to go about setting up more formal channels to communicate with the future Trump administration, said Ryabkov.

This is a most pleasant development, to see our country extending an olive branch to Moscow and easing global concerns over a second cold war.

    Here’s a storyline:

President-elect [X] was accused of accepting support from [Foreign Country Y] during their campaign. After the election [Y] discloses that in fact they were frequently contact with multiple members of the [X] campaign throughout the election.

Just change the names and your affiliation and this is either outstanding news or a horrendous undermining of our electoral process.

I don’t blame anyone but the DNC and the Clinton campaign for their email mess. But I don’t doubt that there was a lot of the same ugliness on the other side. But the warm embrace of Putin is, to me, let’s say, very troubling.

The values of the current Russian regime are not American values, at least they did not used to be.

Just the opinion of a butt-hurt libtard.

BTW, the electoral college doesn’t meet until Dec. 19th. If they think the Russia issue is serious enough to lead to us all having to learn to speak Russian within the year, then they can still vote Hillary in instead.

      Unlikely but possible.

What’s wrong with having a relationship with Russia ? The urge to paint them as eternal enemies is what the Clinton / Bush oligarchy wanted to perpetuate.

Could be positive step but Trump campaign lied when they said there were no on-going communications. FBI is now investigating nature of relationship. I’m sure General Guiliani will pursue vigorously.

BTW.. I grew up literally next door to Guiliani family. Weirdest family on the block. Parents never left the house. Grandmother dressed in black and watched us play from second story window. Dad was rumored to be mob enforcer. Remember FBI coming to our house to talk with my dad when Rudy applied for some federal job. He is one strange cat.

Replace Russia with Iran and you guys would act rational.

As if they arent on the same team trying to screw us over.

    And we’re the “cucks”

I remember when Americans still thought the world belonged to them. Now we’re scared of Putin and his 1 diesel aircraft carrier.

When enough people in both parties stop thinking that two wrongs make a right, we’ll have a better functioning democracy again.

Ask Ukraine what they fear about Putin, I doubt it’s his diesel carrier.
