Not “worst” in terms of performance. “Worst” in terms of…”I woke up and showered for this?”
Most of you were wise enough to hit the road already. But I’ll tell you, there’s nothing worse than sitting inside…watching pixels change red to green while the sun is shining, birds are chirping, and kids are home playing.
What you see happening on the screens today is what the week before and after the 4th is going to look like. In other words, if you’re missing out on some fun that could be had, wise up and get the fuck out of here. Only miserable people like myself opt to sweat it up in front of the screens rather than outside in the sun.
I find nothing interesting here. No story to tell, no analysis to spew. I sat here for three hours meditating for inspiration on what to blog about today, and this was all I came up with.
Book a gain somewhere and treat yourself to a trip. No doubt, this will be here when you get back.

Planning on getting smaller in $SVXY calls and $VMIN calls as July progresses as well as selling $IBB stock and calls. Looking to add to $FTK, $THC, $BIDU some oilfield services and engingeering/construction names, and a retailer or two here, a couple of financials with the proceeds. 95% stock buys and a handful of 2 year leaps. All for longer term, not trades. I’m liking the short interest in $NE & $CLR. But looking for a good entry on both. May take profits in $INP depending on how Modi visit goes (sell some if successful, hold if meetings go poorly). I’m taking a cruise over July expiry. Happy to balance out the longer term stuff and take a little break from trading. Enjoy the summer, guys.
Does GILD grind for a while here, die, or push higher?
Yeah. The July GILD’s are up a lot. I’m looking at any reason to book the trade. I’ve rarely ever had success holding a 400-500%er and getting more. What usually happens is it bleeds down and I finally cave at around 200% or the occasional goes to 0% and I’m just laughing at myself.

Put a stop in to protect my gains but still holding. Still in the middle of retracing the last gap down (73-67) and I can’t sell when it’s showing so much relative strength to other pharma.

you my differ, but my experience with stops on option positions has been useless for anything other than when you plan to get out THAT DAY but have to leave the computer or something.
Stops and options leave waaay too much slippage to be helpful/effective. Agreud

Looks like a continuation of what we’ve seen so far, still looks good to me.
I’m very interested in this spot for $DBA. It has gone down to lows on little volume, makes me think we are near exhausting the sellers, everyone else holding.
Or is this just a manifestation of the summer lull you reference in the blog post?
