Bitcoin has been here before and is the best performing currency 6 of last 7 years. We “crashed” all the way back to ….. last week’s prices.

Not a fan of the entry point.
A play right here that looks good is a play on the trade that 95 percent of traders missed this summer and now 95 percent think looks good on the long side. It also recently had/will have some supply hit the market and so it will likely trade on that idea more than fundamentals or technicals with sellers unloading to lock in gains.
ACIA looks good long? Me thinks wrong. Planning to purchase near money puts either this month or next month.
That is – get them tomorrow with either January or February strike.
Looks similar to the BABA trade we discussed.
In that case – better for sure take this trade but not press my luck and play it again. In all seriousness though – and I think this is reflected from when I first mentioned BABA – my first trade was a quick winner – quicker than I thought it would be because of the “counterfeit list” news. I had puts purchased from the 89’s and then a day or so later sold almost the whole stake in the 86’s the morning of the “BABA is on the notorious list” news. I then got puts a few times in the low-88’s and then conceded my wrongness on the second trade when BABA went strong above 90.
I would also add that BABA has started the year strong as a possible great winner on the year – up more than 7 percent and ACIA has started off the year down almost 2 percent looking like “yesteryear’s great IPO play, this year nothing.”
Gold and gold miners – after hitting a month high and garnering huge interest among traders looking to the long side – look set up for multi-day weakness with the job reports being the catalyst excuse. On watch and ABX puts will be the go to play if they start to go weak.

I know you like to look for correlated setups. I was shopping some earnings for the next month, and EVERY regional bank looks exactly the same. $RF, $MTB, $BKU, $KEY, $FULT, the list goes on and on, those are just a few I jotted down to prove the point. There are at least 15 other examples out there.

The setup doesn’t look bullish to me. Do you see this as an opportunity to assess some shorts/insurance into this market setup? Reminds me of the short setup that I crushed on consumer staples 2 q’s ago. Dol Gen, Campbells, and a couple of others I can’t remember.
Every time I’ve tried to respect risk with strategic puts in the last 90 days, I’ve gotten my face punched off, so now that I’m wavering on the idea, this is the time to pounce.
Implied Volatility is really low on a few of these names I spot checked as well.
