America Already is Europe

How much farther left can America go?

From the progressivity of our tax code, to the percentage of GDP devoted to government, to the extent of the regulatory burden on business, most of Europe’s got nothing on us.

Indeed, America looks more like Spain than the America of our grandparents.

    “America looks more like Spain than the America of our grandparents”

    True but the United States is not Europe although I think it’s headed that way.

    Meaning the population is dependent on the government vs. the government being a body of regulation as it was set forth.

    When people depend on government for:

    * food
    * shelter
    * water
    * health care
    * employment

    That is when America will be Europe.

    I think we’re on our way.

    Good news is.. if you are a slacker and simply want to skate thru life, things are getting easier.

    If you truly want to excel, your opportunities are still available, it’s just harder and more cumbersome with red tape.

    That’s my 2.5 cents adjusted for inflation and whatnot.

    its funny how we got here, the one question i ask libs, is how do we pay for it? some respond we tax the people making over 250t when i explain the math i get a cold shoulder. its true we need more revenue, but we cant raise the amount we need without major cuts.

    Demographics make us like Latin America not Europe. They love big government (as do our Federal politicians).
