When Amazon “brings 500 jobs and 50 million dollars” to a local economy in exchange for tax credits, and givebacks, these are the jobs. Probaby beats starving, but…

Here’s a good story by a writer who took a job as a picker at a mega-warehouse for the purpose of writing an article. It is from Mother Jones magazine, so it has a strong pro-labor angle, but it is an interesting read:

I’d read the story before, and was reminded of it when watching the Amazon video and noticing that the pickers appearing on screen were just strolling down the aisles like they were at a grocery store. Not realistic.
