$430 billion, huh? Until yields blow out, at least…then I wonder how much that $14 trillion will cost us?

“Or what about hysterical headlines like “U.S. Debt Default Looms” (courtesy of NPR) unless Democrats and Republicans agree to raise the debt ceiling? They are completely untrue.”
I’ve seen more pieces reassuring people that things “won’t be that serious”. Sounds like propaganda to me to prevent a panic because they are not going to get something done by August 2nd. Unconfirmed rumor that a deal is done by ABC yesterday, now rumors that we are “close”, is all a part of the same agenda. Wasting time leaking reports that they are “close”.
Also reports that a downgrade “won’t be that serious”.

…That is, until we lose the reserve currency status as a result.

Even if they are close, they’d have to break their own campaign promise to read bills carefully over a time delay. There’s going to be an uproar about that if they try.

      Short extension or nothing.

today on meet the press, david gregory recited a piece from peggy cloonans’ recent column where she calls barack obama,”a loser”. man,,the way they went into it, almost seems as though they were trying to seal obamas’ fate,in gaining re-election. which was all geared against the president. looks like propaganda central is trying to distance themselves from the WH
