I booked a 19% gain in LABD and +7% in SOXS, both higher by more than 8% for the day. Those gains helped offset some of the other FUCKERY taking place in my brilliant bio-ag plays. I think this sell off is both fake and gay and truly believe, down to the deepest depths of my black heart, we’ll be back to skinning bears alive tomorrow.
It’s worth noting, the proceeds have gone to cash — since I have no interest in adding beta to a portfolio that is already a wild-animal-beast. Over in my cordially managed quant account, I cannot buy anything with my cash reserves until we get a systemwide oversold signal.

There have been several studies that show that people make decisions *before* they decided why they made that decision. The stock market is the same way.
Stocks rise: “Sell high” or “Let your winner run”?
Stocks fall: “Buy low” or :”Cut your losses”?
Inflation: buy stocks becuase sales go up or sell because costs go up?
Good jobs number: sell stocks because FED will raise interest rates or buy stocks because economy is good?
FED raises interest: sign that the economy is doing well so buy stocks, or are bonds now a better value so sell stocks?
In other words, for investors the news itself is often less important than the reaction to it.

Trump spent 50 years building up his name and brand to the point people would pay him millions to put his name on a building. It took him just 5 years to destroy that to the point where people are paying to get his name removed.
