I love it. Now this is a market.

Bottom line: market trades up, substantially, by Wednesday of next week. Have a great weekend and don’t forget to stop by tomorrow, as I wrap up Stanley Kubrick and move onto one of my favorite directors of all time: Woody Allen.

NOTE: I’ve had this song on repeat for about 24 hours straight. I am driving Mrs. Fly ape.

    Besides all the witty dialog and comedic hijinks, the b&w fireworks over the skyline at the beginning of “Manhattan” is one of my favorite movie scenes.

    Love the Mravinski. The Gergiev is so lush it makes me all weepy. (Great recording, though.) The Karajan makes me want to invade Russia, wearing marching boots and lederhosen.

    Early Woodman was really revolutionary for the time. ‘I have a gum’ bank robber note to teller. Past decade he has gone to the continent where he is appreciated and could get financing. I don’t believe he is covering any new ground, but still a fan.

    There is a great piece in Side Effects called “The Whore of Mensa” that you may like if you are a fan of Woody Allen. I like Annie Hall, but only every-so-often. The balance of the time it seems incredibly overwrought.
