Go over to GreenHippy’s last Peeg post and click on the link he has to an article from back in last October about mortgage resets. Then read the comments, especially the one from a guy named “Phillip” about “the bank trade being over.”
He compares that comment to the one about the Housing Group when they had plummeted about 50% of the way to their lows (ie, that the trade was “over.”). I know we’re six months beyond his comment, but I think Phillip is still correct, and that we’ve got another six to twelve months of shitty bank news here, no matter what Congress and the Fed do (and it looks like Congress at least plans to leave the banks holding the bag).

There is a major rice shortage stemming from high demand and limited product substititions… thats creating major panic in many markets and causing manic buying of seeds, fertilizer, ag stocks for what will be a surge in prices (from already high levels).
Selling brokers is a great idea because they have an excess supply of stock, because they need to keep issuing shares to raise capital. Don’t short ag plays that are high demand/low supply.
