Stealth Yield Plays

lydia

Back on July 21st, I wrote the following in a Weekly Strategy Session:

…I would be remiss not to point out that with investors still searching for yield, some of the Trusts in the energy sector could easily start to pick up steam. San Juan Basin Royalty Trust has a solid yield and, as you can see on the daily chart, is sporting an impressive technical breakout pattern from a tight base.

Updating that chart, below, it appears the yield rotation is playing out. I expect to see more of this, given that we continue to see crowded trades showing signs of age in the aerospace & defense yielders, not to mention the utes and REITs collapsing from the spring.

In addition, WWE has been an excellent yield play off the beaten path from the usual staples.

If you have other stealth, under-the-radar yield plays, feel free to drop them in the comments section.

I think you get the best of both worlds with BX(growth and yield{think end of year pay out}) and a healthy option chain to juice returns .

Chess, any thoughts on some of the beaten down miners? IAG and GORO both sport a nice 4.7% divy

My favorite yield play is FAX, which is a close-ended fund paying 3.5 cents per month per share. However, my FTR, an albatross since the start of 2012, has been on a tear coming out of bullish consolidation for the past year. Tread lightly in this one, folks!
