A handful of other players joined the now unemployed quarterback in his knee-bending, which has since morphed into an anti-government / anti-Trump gesture.
Fast forward to a Friday night rally in Huntsville, Alabama in support of Republican Luther Strange – in which President Trump started veering off topic to the NFL.
“Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners,” said Trump, “when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, ‘Get that son of a bitch off the field right now, out. He’s fired. He’s fired!’ ”
