Mixed reports are rolling in that at least one guard was killed after a gunman opened fire inside the Iranian parliament on Wednesday, wounding several people, state media reported – and a gunman has now reportedly fled the parliament building:

- Unconfirmed reports say that one person has been taken hostage and four people have been injured.
- The Tasnim news agency said that the identity and motivation of the assailant was still unclear.

- An armed man opened fire at the Mausoleum of Ayatollah Khomeini in southern Tehran and wounded a number of people.
- A gunman opened fire at pilgrims at the late Imam Khomeini mausoleum in southern Tehran on Wednesday injuring a number of people.
