Trump Signals Bannon Is On Thin Ice: “Straighten It Out Or I Will”

Surely this wasn’t a huge bait-n-switch!

Trump campaigned on a non-interventionist America First platform, waxing eloquent about the failures of globalist misadventures in the Middle East, and surrounding himself with the likes of Mike Flynn, Roger Stone, Steve Bannon, Stephen Miller, and of course Kellyanne Conway – all proponents of “America 1st” nationalism and staunch opponents of globalist neoconservatism. This was the team which sold Trump supporters on the vision of change. Shit.

And one by one, each of those people are either gone, de-fanged, or relegated to some dark corner – having been supplanted by the likes of Chelsea Clinton bestie Ivanka Trump and Democrat leaning husband Jared Kushner, plus a cadre of globalists from Goldman Sachs; Stephen Mnuchin as Treasury Secretary, Gary Cohn as top Economic advisor, and Dina Powell – Valerie Jarrett’s buddy who scored a seat on the National Security Council shortly before Stephen Bannon was kicked off (officially). And hey, National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster is an admittedly big fan of regime change.

And last week the United States lobbed bombs into Syria – less than 90 days after the inauguration, 48 hours after a chemical attack of questionable origin which wasn’t investigated or presented to congress or the UN, and a day after Steve Bannon was kicked off the NSC. To suggest discord within the administration would be putting it lightly.

And in a Tuesday exchange with the New York Post’s Michael Goodwin, Trump made it clear that Stephen K. Bannon’s days in his administration are numbered – after a reported feud with both Jared Kushner and National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster.

“I like Steve, but you have to remember he was not involved in my campaign until very late,” Trump said. “I had already beaten all the senators and all the governors, and I didn’t know Steve. I’m my own strategist, and it wasn’t like I was going to change strategies because I was facing crooked Hillary.”

Referring to the discord which has clearly placed Bannon on the outs, Trump then made the following threat:

Steve is a good guy, but I told them to straighten it out or I will.

Syria aside, Trump has done a lot of good things since entering office, and a few I disagree with – but at the end of the day we’ve witnessed a slow motion ideological coup that has left many Trump supporters puzzled and disappointed. Whatever the case, I certainly hope that the President abides by his most recent statement that the United States won’t “go into Syria,” though whether that means actual boots on the ground or drones with 90% civilian casualties has yet to be seen. I’m sure whatever McMaster, Mattis, and Kushner cook up will be in America’s best interest.

You’re surprised a liberal didn’t turn in to a nationalist with conservative leanings at age 70 something?

Funny how all of Trump’s picks now suck but were fine before the cruised missiles. I warned you months ago that Trump was an ideological snake oil salesman and that you and fellow fans of the Oranged Man-Fraud would be left disappointed. All I heard was nasty shit back. Guess I was right. I also correctly predicted that Flynn would be ousted and that Bannon would be out by summer. Looks like I’m right there too. The hate of Hillary never justified a love of Trump. Now we all are left with a bag of steaming shit for more than 3 years. God help us.

    Anyone want to apologize now?

Sure feels and sounds like this was a huge bait-n-switch to me. I am embarrassed to say I fell for it. Very humiliating. The old saying that if voting made any differ5ence, it would be illegal continues to be 100% spot on.
Needless to say, at least Crooked Hillary and her establishment family was unseated. I said good bye to the idea that Klinton will be locked up and #pedogate investigated already; before the Syrian false flag. Aw, well.

The american public, poor dumb bastards. They fall for it every time: Hope and change – that was a good one. MAGA – what a great slogan. Just like with Obama; they picked his cabinet.
Trump may have been sincere, but this is the big leagues. When push comes to shove they simply threaten your kids. What would you do? Exactly what they f’n tell you.

“I had already beaten all the senators and all the governors, and I didn’t know Steve. I’m my own strategist”

Sounds like he watched SNL and reacted …what a fragile little man.

The way I read the above Trump quote: “I am my own man. Steve’s not my boss. Marco was wrong about my penis.”

I think this is basically true, that Trump’s strategy was in fact created by Trump over many years. If you look back to the Oprah interview from 1988 you can see same ideology that created his America first platform, which was laid out, including the catch phrase MAGA, in Trump’s 2013 CPAC speech. I find Trump very consistent in his views over time. I like having Bannon in there and Miller and the whole America First wing. I don’t care if Bannon goes, but if he does, I would like to see Trump replace him with another nationalist to maintain the balance of power in the cabinet. Obviously, if we are suddenly threatening regime change the nationalist wing of the cabinet needs to be strengthened.

Bannon and all libertarian patriots should just resign now so as to not be associated with the oncoming clustercuck that the neocons are about to unleash on the world. They have lost anyway so they may as well GTFO of the sinking USS America. Maybe then will Trump start to notice that he has lost base support, though unlikely as he is a despicable con-artist.

    Trader – an apology? lol

Trump was either co-opted or always shill, and neither of us know what’s true at this point. What I can say is that he’s effectively surrounded himself with the same people Hillary would have & pursued the same aggressive stance towards Syria – and John Podesta, Russia profiteer, would be Secretary of State.

Don’t forget that despite this turn of events, Trump has also rounded up record numbers of pedos and sex traffickers, inked deals for tens of thousands of jobs, killed TPP, banned administration officials from lobbying in various forms – all while waging a massive battle with holdover enemies in the intelligence community who were leaking like a sieve.

So at the end of the day, I’m pissed at how things are developing – but the sudden change of heart from political enemies like McCain suggest Trump finally caved (as opposed to shilling all along). Despite adopting Hillary’s foreign policy – I would still rather have a conservative neocon shill than a Democrat neocon shill if those are the choices.

Trump doesn’t have a clue that he won because of Bannon. Bannon was listening to the people for a whole year before he went to help Trump. Bannon gave trump the low down on every issue that was important to the people that Trump was not talking about. Trump started adopting those issues and promoting them because bannon gave him that info from talking to americans every day. Now maybe trump just promoted those things because he knew they would make him get more support and never intended to do them, Time will tell, if Bannon goes and Trump does not keep his promises he will be a one term president.
As it stands Him attacking Syria makes it a good chance that he will be a one term president.. Half the base is pissed and feels totally betrayed because of that.
There is evidence that he was given wrong intelligence on that. you can google syran weapons disposal and you will see many articles that have documented that the syran chemical weapons were transferred to U.S ships to be destroyed in 2014. So why is Tillerson calling Putin incompetent or complicit with a chemical attack.
