A harrowing scene unfolded as an Argentinian DREAMer missing her earlobes was detained by ICE and held with no bond, after giving an anti-Trump speech about deportation – while currently overstaying her visa.
Daniela Vargas, 22, has resided in the USA since she was 7 years old under the “Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals” (DACA) immigration policy – which requires recipients reapply every two years to retain legal residency. In February, more than 50 undocumented immigrants were picked up in an immigration sweep – including Vargas’ father and brother. During the February arrest, Vargas allegedly hid in the closet – only to be discovered, handcuffed, and subsequently released.
Not this time…
After her father and brother were detained, Vargas previously told The Clarion-Ledger she planned to go into hiding. She came out of hiding to speak at the conference.
Since she came into the country on a visa waiver program, Vargas could be processed without a hearing, Peterson said.
I’m not going to question Vargas’ intelligence for flagrantly challenging the Trump administration’s ICE agency after barely avoiding arrest only weeks earlier. Who am I to judge? Follow your heart and stick your dick in a beehive for all I care, but don’t get mad when you get stung.
Before being detained Wednesday, Vargas said she planned to move out of state with her mother and pursue her dream of being a university math professor. –Clarion Ledger
Perhaps this is for the best? The Vargas family will now be deported together, and can enjoy life back in their home country of Argentina where, according to sources, they still teach math.

Here is the thing that I don’t understand. If you are hear on a visa and went through the legal channels to go through the rigorous process of obtaining said visa, then why allow it to expire? What give these people the notion they can just bypass the laws of this nation and proceed with every day life as if they were legal citizens? Do they not care or even began to think they are breaking the law and are subject to deportation? Idiots!
The liberals have been in control and refused to uphold the law. People got used to it. Felt protected.
Trump.. making our country safe again.. Nothing better for ICE to do? Guess they don’t want to mess with the criminals and dirty their sharp windbreakers. Pathetic.
How ’bout we keep immigrant minorities studying math instead social work or women’s studies
One shool of thought is that taking in immigrants results in a brain drain from the origin country, which causes even further impoverishness in said country and further immigration out of it (immigration for true humanitarian reasons is a different story). It is truly a viscous cycle. Perhaps Miss Vargas can now “Make Argentina Great (Again?)” with her US education?

It takes courage to go out and risk your life in America to challenge ICE and policies you believe will hurt and disrupt the lives of many as well as your family. And yes, her education in the US will definitely help them in Argentina.
What is that thing? No one knows is the answer.
That thing is what is called butt ugly.
Stories of foreign nationals abusing tourist visas are endless. My capacity to feel empathy for these people is exhausted.
