Vietnam veteran and former “Berkeley Black Panther” liberal turned conservative author, Mason Weaver, appeared on Tucker Carlson Tonight with some harsh words for Civil Rights icon Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga), who recently referred to President-elect Trump as illegitimate. Weaver considers Lewis a turncoat who has been “collaborating with the Democrat party to oppress black America.”
Weaver begins with a short history lesson [links added for context]:
In the early 70’s and late 60’s, we were demonstrating and protesting for the right to compete as adult citizens of America, we were not demonstrating to be taken care of.
Congressman Lewis – he walked across the Pettus bridge and they beat him and ran over him, but those were Democrats. It was Democrat George Wallace [who] stood in the schoolhouse door, it was Democrat Bull Connor that oppressed [black] folks…
…he [Lewis] was fighting Democrats, but after they beat his behind on that bridge and ran over him and stomped him in the ground, he got up and turned and joined them!
Weaver then went on to describe how Democrat leadership has destroyed black communities:
Every district they [black Democrats] own and control is a ghetto hell hole. Is a place that no one wants to go to. They’re in control of every inner city school system, every inner city police, every inner city jail, they produce nothing but drugs and misery. They should be ashamed of themselves. I don’t understand why any black person could be a democrat.
In closing, Weaver brings it back to Congressman Lewis:
The democrat party has always been the party of abuse, the party of the Klan, the party that went to war to keep slaves, the party that’s always been [about] the destruction of black people. Mr. Lewis, you have presided over the destruction of black America, and you owe us an apology.

Personally, I think that blacks underperform because of the IQ gap (100 whites vs 85 for blacks.) But I can see his point and I think that he is correct about the Dems historically being the party for racists. Those racists seem to be mostly anti-white and anti-male these days.
This seems very far fetched, but raises some interesting “conspiracy theory” questions. I agree that the democratic party doesn’t do the black community any favors, but to say that there’s a secret hidden agenda to oppress black people seems a little far fetched. Who knows though. It is quite interesting to see the demographic shifts between party lines since 1960, where blacks once voted conservative bc it was the party of Lincoln, to now have been lead to believe that conservatives are nothing more than the devil in disguise.
Every democrat is a pinko commie in disguise. Just look what Soviet Union looked like under the bolsheviks’ rule – one giant ghetto.
FXtradepro., the parties switched in their racism vs. Civil Rights emphasis. Nixon used a “Southern Strategy” of winning Southern votes through racism. So blacks were correct that conservatives and Republicans changed, and became against Civil Rights.
Most of the Right Wingers here at this site, seem to think that Dems are the devil in disguise.right now, which is certainly not the case.
To say that to say that Dems have a secret hidden agenda to oppress black people is more than a little far fetched. It’s lunatic conspiracy theory material. Pretty much all Dems have the best of intentions toward black people– and far more benevolent intentions toward black people than the average Right Winger or Republican. Republicans pretty much range from clueless about black people’s issues to outright racist on the extreme. Dems range from trying to be helpful in ways that work to trying to be helpful in ways that don’t work.
