#Recount2016 Madness: PA Suddenly Finds 22,000 Hillary Votes – Now Within .2% of Automatic Recount

This recount is madness. Why is Jill trying to jack this election from Trump?

UPDATE: Looks like the Monday hearing is off – thanks @DavidBGalloway

Stein’s attorneys have filed lawsuit to try and force a hand recount in PA. A judge will hear arguments on Monday, update: PA lawsuit just withdrawn! Trump’s margin of victory in the state – a margin which magically shrunk in the last 48 hours. Stein admits she has no evidence of fraud of vote manipulation.

NBC Philadelphia reports that Trump’s lead over Hillary has fallen by 22,000 votes due to uncounted absentee ballots, reducing his margin of victory from 71,000 to 49,000.

With a fight being waged over whether a statewide recount will take place in Pennsylvania, President-elect Donald Trump’s lead in the commonwealth narrowed by some 22,000 votes as counties continued to count votes from last month’s presidential election.

State election officials said Friday evening that Trump now led Democratic challenger Hillary Clinton by 49,000 votes, down from 71,000 as provisional and absentee ballots from overseas are recorded.

The revised vote total was released as Green Party candidate Jill Stein mounted a recount effort in the state. Officials in Philadelphia approved requests to re-check results of a series of machines, but a statewide review remains up in the air.

A court hearing is being held on Monday in Harrisburg that could decide whether a full recount could take place. NBC

While the 49,000 vote lead still puts trump above the .05% level which would trigger an automatic state-wide recount, the fact that 22K votes were magically found right before a recount hearing in a highly contested swing state is troubling. The official recount deadline is December 13th, which makes one wonder if enough Clinton votes could still be “found” in contested states to call the results into question.

MEANWHILE: Trump gains 11 whole votes in 2nd day of WI recount while Hillary loses a devastating 25. (source)

In other words, tens of thousands of “found” votes notwithstanding, legitimate recounts performed in states with a high degree of election fidelity are proving themselves to be a ridiculous waste of time.

Hackers Say It Would Be “Too Easy” To Hack The U.S. Elections

Are the voter machines even connected to the internet? If so, why?

All this hoopla has revealed some utterly stupid election/balloting practices in various states. Pretty interesting from a township clerks point of view…..

I mean WTF is up with Pennsylvania not bothering to tabulate all their absentee ballots!?

I agree with having no electronic voting machines. 100%.
No touch screens of any kind. We have one that is available for physically impaired persons who wish to vote but the thing has failed to work correctly, if at all, in every single election since we got it through the HAVA back in the Bush/Gore fiasco times.
It sits in the corner and no one uses it because it is difficult to use and very slow.
    …when it works…
If we have a handicapped, or whatever the PC term for disabled people is these days …want to vote my poll workers are trained to assist in the most non intrusive way possible but they will actually mark a ballot for a person who needs that done for them.
Note! a person from each party is present when this is done…

As to WiFi in a polling place. Nyet. Nada. No fricking way. The WiFi on the electronic poll book used to confirm valid voters is turned off and as an extra precaution, I unplug the router. No one is going to dick with my citizens and disqualify their ballot through nefarious electronic activity.

Our process in Michigan is very tight and fool proof.
We use a paper ballot so there is an actual record of ballots cast. Those ballots are fed through an electronic reader (tabulator) which has no capability to mark or re-mark the ballots as they are read.
The programming cartridge for each precinct is distinct to that location. It will reject a ballot from another precinct and not count it no matter how many times it is tried.
Prior to the election, I have to publicly test the programming and the tabulator by purposely mismarking a set of ballots called the test deck.
I mark these ballots in such a way that the tabulator has to identify and reject over voted, under voted, and otherwise mis marked ballots without fail. The totals read must match my calculations in order to ascertain the tabulator is reading correctly. If it gives an over vote or under vote to a given position, it’s a fail and the cartridge goes back for a fix.
I must say this has never happened in the 14 years it has been in use.
Making our system here more bulletproof is nigh unto impossible.

My only bitch with this system is the cost of the ballots. Whereas the old punch cards, which could be used for any election cost about $.02, these paper/linen ballots cost about $.75 each and are single use. Printed specifically for each election. Talk about unfunded mandates…

I’ve been clerk of our little township since 1996. It’s typically Republican but I have never seen it swing as strongly that way as it did this election.

I say stop the recount and let Trump lead the country into a war with China and financial ruin with 35% tariffs. Trump will make the neocons look like Quakers. Dems will sweep midterms and make America Great Again. Can’t wait to watch the Senate confirmation of Trump’s cabinet picks.. Bought a truckload of popcorn for that spectacle. God Bless America!
