As a follow-up to my post on Michael Moore’s core-rattling speech about Donald Trump, I thought it was hilarious to see how Moore is furiously trying to backpedal on his now legendary sound byte, which has been turned into an EPIC TRUMP AD:

Michael Moore is playing everyone like a fiddle. Everyone.
He positions myself as an independent thinker from the radical left that used to support people who had no chance and took votes away from democrats and that he has moved towards enslaving himself for her. But meanwhile he also talked early about how he predicted Trump would win and even influenced people in parts in the clip to vote Trump.
His “official” support is for Hillary because that’s the only way to get plenty of media coverage as he promotes himself as a filmmaker.
He is saying what he needs to in order to get moderate Trump voters on his side and diehards at least respecting him.
His main purpose is getting an audience as large as possible to make money from, and then he will try to persuade from there.
This controversy of him “supporting Trump” is a story in and of itself.
If Trump wins… he predicted it and looks smart and said enough nice things to Trump and bad things about Hillary when she was running against Bernie to be able to have credibility whatever direction people go.
If Hillary wins, he was “on her side” and “Made it happen” due to his influence and people on the left want to pay him money to do documentaries in the future. If he loses, they sort of blame him for being more influential than he possibly is, and still want him on their side 100%.
I think Moore has probably had it hard @hattery. He sees the world for what it is – all the neocon bombing, the fact that it’s all for oil, and the lies that our gov. has told us before steamrolling a million brown people into the sand. Social injustice is kind of his thing.
So he sees all that, and then Trump gets into the race. Nobody takes him seriously, but he is authentic in his message and is resonating with a lot of Americans. He speaks his heart and wears his spots on the outside. Now, compared to Hillary – the rabbit hole of scandal, Trump doesn’t look so bad.
Moore is a smart guy and knows what’s up. My guess is that underneath all that blubber, he would also rather pick long shot patriotic capitalist over known quantity globalist. Moore has to stay in the closet for obvious reasons, but I think he’s probably a deeply conflicted man right now.
