Disappointing Performance
I was quite disappointed with my performance, or lack thereof, on Friday. I should have taken my profits on my profitable $TZA positions. It matters not that this morning the futures point to what might be a lower opening. One of my goals is not to have any monthly drawdowns. It’s late enough in the month that I should just take the money and run.

WOW! I get the impression you were a low-risk, longs-only guy…and here you are holding TZA over the weekend!
Sometimes our experience and subconscious trick us into doing things for reasons we cannot (consciously) imagine. Thank goodness. Nice hold.
John, I’ve always been long short and always used leverage. Different degrees depending on my market outlook. I don’t use stops and I manage my risk using position sizing. I seldom risk more than 1/2% per position. I’ve also used volatility based indicators to manage entries, exits and risk. Mostly modified Bollinger Bands and some other weird chit.
