Recent Power Dip System Wins

Yes, the market has been in the crapper over the last week, but the Power Dip System has still been racking up wins.

Here is a look at some recent winning trades.

The green up arrow shows the day that the trade was initiated, on the open. The red down arrow shows the day the trade was closed, on the close. All subscribers were alerted to the buy signals the night before and were also given an exit threshold, meaning if the stock was going to close higher than the threshold, then it should be sold at the close, or the next open. Subscribers also receive an email alert at 3:30 which identifies any open positions that are trading above their exit thresholds. Profits shown on the charts do not include commissions or slippage.

The Power Dip System trial is free, and requires only a valid email address.

    Wood,

This looks great! Would buy it in a second if I were on the mainland. Just not convinced I want to get up at 3 a.m. here in Hawaii to buy on the open. However, it is tempting.

Hawaii- put your orders in the night before! No need to get up at 3 a.m., unless there is something I’m missing about the time differential.

I thought you had to buy on the open. As you know Hawaii 3 a.m. is 9 a.m. EST.

So if we’re communicating here, what are you saying?

I would put in a limit stop order, a market order or what the night before when the market is closed? If this is complicated or not depending, email me so that I can better understand my time commitment to the process.

Your earlier post made it seem pretty easy except for the buy “on the open” part.

Hawaii, sorry if I was confusing.
If you place your buy-order at night when the market is closed, it will automatically execute on the open. You will not want to use a limit order, unless that is part of your strategy. You will just use a market order.

    Wood,

Has the PDS been back-tested using the PPT? I would think that of all the ways to use this system, buying only when the PPT reaches 2.2 or lower would offer more winning trades and higher average trade returns.

Count, it is really not possible to do an automated backtest using the PPT together with the Power Dip system. However, sure by hand, one could look at Power Dip returns after the overall PPT score gets below a certain number.

A PDS and PPT subscriber has been calculating taking the PDS selections and comparing against the PPT score for the same stock, and has gotten some very interesting/good results using them in tandem, for example, if the PDS selects a stock, but the PPT score for it is too high, it doesn’t take the signal. That is a rough example, but you probably get the idea.

Beyond all that, we could use many of the overbought/oversold oscillators to try and time the Power Dip, but it would hurt returns because it would reduce opportunity. The other thing is that the Power Dip has built within the algorithm a metric that takes into account overbought/oversold conditions within the entire market.

Thank you. It is coming to a close today, and the wife and I are sad, but will happy to pick up the kiddos tomorrow.

        Wood,

Will probably give your system a try at some point, because it still appears the most logical of anything. But for the moment I want to give my TA a shot as I’ve just switched from mutual funds to stocks and now have a chance to do the stuff I’ve been reading about.

Also, because I’m thinking this is your kind of odds based thinking, is there any % relationship between futures and how the stock or s&p closes the next day. I know many seem to act as if there is, but I just wondered if you had any idea of the mathematical relationship.

        Thanks!

    Wood,

I’m thinking about taking a part of my capital and trying your system, maybe starting the middle of next week or so.

You mentioned earlier that because I’m a member maybe you could get me a longer trial period for starters.

Let me know. Also, does your system work better in some markets than in others?
