The break was nice, but I really miss writing and the interaction with everyone. The Fly was kind enough to allow me to return to my blog (on his terms, of course) with the understanding that I will not be posting on a regular, day-to-day basis.

You’ll be glad to know that I bought a couple CPHD calls on Friday, and am also the proud owner of a few FNM and FRE calls. Steak tomorrow night!

Jake, FNM/FRE may be an outlier. But if a short squeeze gets ignited across the broader markets, I think it is going to be one for the history books.
The relief brought on by Paulson easing the FNM/FRE panic-and-anxiety-thon should be good for a few hundred points, at least, no?

If the dollar falls to shit here, thanks to egregious printing press action (imagine adding $5T to the US Debt in one fell swoop?), look out below. Even the financial analysts are saying what’s good fro FRE and FNM is death to the BKX. And the market is not going anywhere with a dead BKX.

LOL Jake, don’t worry I’m evenly balanced between shorts and longs. One of my few trading skills is always having serious hedges in case the market or a position unexpectedly gets very f’d up.

Jake- I understand the situation. It ain’t pretty. It pisses me the fuck off. However, markets move in 3 directions. Up, down, and sideways. I think sideways is out of the question due to the large short interest and oversold conditions. That leaves 2 directions.
Crash, or rally.
I really think it is that simple.

Few reasons, insane amount of puts being bought for a couple of days for the august puts. I believe this is not a guess, no. There’s something someone knows, and i will reap his signal. R currently at 65.81, i except it to be below 55 after its earnings, and downwards on from there.
I am guessing maybe, just maybe, oil has to do with it. And few extra losses from the midwest floodings (rerouting and such).
