I am an Economics student at a top university. Since trading isn't taught in textbooks, I decided to venture into the investment world on my own. I have experience day trading from working with a proprietary firm, but I have since moved on because scalping the market became frustrating. I developed a trading style that is a mix of swing trading and position trading (very similar to most on this site), and so far it has been working. I have yet to blow my accounts up, and I take precautions to limit downside. I understand that this blog will probably not get much attention, but I am fine with that. I am using this as an open journal. I want to track my progress in some way. Some of you may find the content helpful, while others may think I am making the wrong moves. And yes, I am trading with REAL money. I manage my personal account as well as those of family members and friends. Please leave comments!

Memorial Day Charts

I’ve been sifting through some charts this weekend and have found a few worthy of mentioning. These are all hourly candlestick charts. I believe they are coiled and ripe for a move, so let me know what you think. If you have any other suggestions, then please leave them in the comments section.   1. Agreed. That’s why I am kicking down the time frame. I typically trade daily charts, but I am willing to play quicker breakouts should they ever materialize in order to limit my overnight exposure.

  3. I think I will be in a hit and run mode this week, or longer, until the trends get clearer. If i get upside on a trade I will be quick to take profits.Ditto on the downside.
