Women on the Front

A few people have asked my opinion on women serving in “combat-arms” MOS’s. I am going to try and keep this short, military style with bullet points. (No PowerPoint Ranger)

1. I can’t imagine why any woman would want to be around a bunch of sweaty, foul mouth, pigs, that have to sleep and eat in the dirt and mud. You cannot make grunts PC, you’ll lose the edge needed to form them into a combat killing machine.

2. I believe there are women out there qualified to serve in certain positions, however, at the current time women’s APFT score standards are FAR lower than that of men. If they want to go to Ranger School, etc, they need to meet the same standards.

3. Yes, I do believe it’s a bad idea. War is complex, and there are enough distractions as is. Do you really want 20 year old males with live weapons fighting over women? No. Do you want them trying to sneak off, or do co-ed guard shifts at night? No. The list goes on and on.

4. The enemy is not PC, they don’t believe women are equal to men. They beat them and behead them with impunity for tiny infractions. Do you know what they will do if they capture a female American? You CAN”T even imagine.

5. Do you want to send your daughter to die if there is a draft? Do the ladies? It’s only fair to right?

6.What happens if a female becomes pregnant and the unit then has to get replacements and/or shuffle things around?

Feel free to ask me any questions below

  1. What’s PC?

  2. Politically Correct!

  3. I agree with just about everything you said here.

There is no reason why a woman should be drafted to fight alongside men.

In nature, there is very little aggressive behavior from females…sure they will defend their territory, but they do not show outright aggression like males.

People may go on about how humans are “different”.

    Bullshit.

I think this really matters when it comes to the most primitive and animalistic of acts (kill or be killed).

  4. Based on my girlfriend- women should be the brains of the outfit, running the show from a command center. I know this because my girlfriend is “always right” and her basic attitude is that she has all the information already and everybody else is a moron. LOL I find this astounding because I trade the markets. My whole world is managing uncertainty of price behavior beyond my control.

Men may be more likey to join pack behavior and follow a leader, as a team. I think this is important in a deadly conflict.

Complete respect to Rhino and our armed forces, just my opinion.

  5. Top 3 reasons not to allow women in combat roles:

    1) We lose one of the few remaining ways in which the US and Saudi Arabia are the same in their treatment of women.

    2) In the next World War, ships and tanks will have to be built by Rosie Palm the Riveter.

    3) Major party candidate for President in 2036 will travel around the country in a pink camo bus to highlight her military experience.

    4) Thousands of men in their late teens and early 20s are horrified to learn that women pass gas.

    5) Males lose the ability to count to 3.

  6. One of my jobs in the U.S. Army was 95 Bravo – Military Police. We weren’t front line, but we were close to it and had to hold a perimeter and conduct ECP and TCP (Entry Control Points and Traffic Control Points) for Arty, Tanks, and Mobilized Infantry. We had a handful of females in our company. We would be in the field for a month at a time before we could rotate back to the rear. The females in our company would be rotated every 3 days for a shower and hygiene upkeep. Half of those females eventually got pregnant and received a medical discharge and almost half of the rest wound up working secretarial jobs 9 A.M. to 5 P.M. There was a lot of animosity and disrespect toward these females and rightly so. There were a very few number of females that did our job and carried their weight and kept up with us. They were given the upmost respect and were treated as one of the guys and they acted like it too. I think the same will happen with the front line troops. A handful will do great things, while the rest will waste their time and everyone else’s time and unfortunately will get themselves killed or someone else.

  7. These military pregnancies are the worst. It’s legal desertion.

  8. In recent years the nature of combat has changed, and along with that change many women have been injured or have died in battle. Yet, women soldiers in combat, as far as I know, do not receive higher combat pay. I think one reason for the official change in policy was to address this inequity. I’m not making an argument in either direction, I am just trying to add more context to the debate.

    • I don’t think the men who serve in the same capacities receive combat pay either.

      • If your stationed in a theater of operation, male and females get combat pay. If your airborne, you get combat pay and jump pay. Doesn’t matter the gender. A soldier doesn’t have to be on the front line, as long as they are in a combat zone.
