Energy Conversion Devices, Inc. [[ENER]]

I’ve added to my position in Valero Energy Corporation [[VLO]].

Hidden behind this miserable tape, we can find a few bright spots. Earlier this morning, Medtronic, Inc. [[MDT]] beat estimates giving life to the sector. A few names I like in the space are: CryoLife, Inc. [[CRY]] , Intuitive Surgical, Inc. [[ISRG]] , Volcano Corporation [[VOLC]] , & Becton, Dickinson and Co. [[BDX]]

Healthcare is a defensive sector in nature, so it make sense investors bid these stocks higher. It’s actually a place I feel comfortable putting my money, and will do so. At the moment, I’m waiting for my entry in [[BDX]].

On a side note:

Keep an eye on Alternative energy/solar. Just the other day SunPower Corporation [[SPWR]] announced a major deal that proves solar will become mainstream. However, in this kind of environment investors are not willing to take the risk, and many of the names, in my opinion, are at attractive levels as a result.

I believe in the next few days we will see a strength in this group. My favorite are: SunPower Corporation [[SPWR]] , LDK Solar Co., Ltd. [[LDK]] , Suntech Power Holdings Co., Ltd. (ADR) [[STP]] , First Solar, Inc. [[FSLR]] , Energy Conversion Devices, Inc. [[ENER]] .
