First off, what is the VIX?

What Does VIX - CBOE Volatility Index Mean?

The ticker symbol for the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) Volatility Index, which shows the market’s expectation of 30-day volatility. It is constructed using the implied volatilities of a wide range of S&P 500 index options. This volatility is meant to be forward looking and is calculated from both calls and puts. The VIX is a widely used measure of market risk and is often referred to as the “investor fear gauge”.

It is incredible to me, as well as most investors, that with the epic health care bill pending, alongside higher taxes for investors, that there is so much complacency in the market.

The VIX is now practically sitting at the lows, which happens to correlate with the last topping pattern back in the summer of ‘08, so could we be sitting at another top?

Look, the market is not entirely overbought as most people say, but shit is starting to float, and if you are long stocks, the (VXX: 22.08 0.00%) is a great way to hedge your bets. Should fear come back in this market, you are going to wish you owned a little VXX.

I have a few sources that tell me this is a phenomenal company with a phenomenal product. I have been long this name for some time, based solely on their recommendation, and so far it has been a fun ride.

This stock is breaking out here, and recently, I have added it in my trading account. Above $6.40, this thing looks good to go for another point:

The last Fed meeting we saw a nice move in the brokers, so again, I’m watching E TRADE Financial Corporation (ETFC: 1.64 0.00%) for a breakout.
