Oil earnings will be judged against same quarter last year, which was a complete disaster. Not hard to beat. Makes sense to take a few trades here. $XOM is above point of control on the 5 year. Downward sloping ATR(14) near 5 year lows. August 18 $82’s are 28 cents. I like for tomorrow. They report July 28. They were $91.77 at the close on 15 July 2016. $87.03 on 28 July. Reported 2Q16 earning on 7/29/16. Closed at $85.82 on 7/29/16 and $82.84 on 1 August. Volume history was thinner on the way down last year than it will be on the way up this year, but still market certainly isn’t pricing in a beat here.
