Dad: Busted in the girls locker room?
Junior: No, he said I am winning the stock market game for my entire grade. Not just my class, but for all of 7th grade.
Dad: That’s awesome brodie. Has your teacher said anything about your recent trades?
Junior: Last week he asked if it was a mistake that I put half my account into $SNAP. He said he heard it was a bad stock and was going to go down a lot. He was trying to talk me out of it.
Dad: Ha. Sounds like everyone on the internet last week. Has he said anything else since?
Junior: Today when he was looking at charts, I asked him to pull up $SNAP. When it came up, he started laughing in front of the class.
Dad: What was so funny?
Junior: He said “Jaxon put half his account in this stock on Friday at $19.10 and the stock has gone up 20%. He bought it right at the bottom! That’s just crazy!”
Dad: When it hits $30, tell him you want to teach the class for a day.
Junior: Nah, you can though. He wants to meet you.
Nice. And it’s nice that the teacher sounds willing to be challenged in front of the class. Congrats “Jaxon” …cool name.

I teach a high school personal finance class and we play a stock market game through marketwatch the entire semester. It is fun to explain to the lil ones what a stock actually is and how it all works. They can all see each others portfolios and they will talk shit and follow the current winning picks and then all get obliterated at once. They love looking at charts of some of my past successes but enjoy hearing more of my crushing losses/selling too early. Have showed some of the more serious ones this site.

he’s a teacher – chances are he has a) no disposable income to trade and/or b) has a deferred comp plan that doesn’t offer anything other than mutual fund allocations. maybe cursing his paper account, though…
also – no disrespect to teachers; my wife is one. anecdotally, though, I don’t know many who trade stocks unless they are nearing retirement and finally have liquid savings.

OA, 5 largest Chinese banks all report earnings next week. Any ideas how those results effect that overall market, Chinese stocks you are holding, and of course BIDU? Also, is DDD a longer term hold or expecting a pop in this one short term? Thanks again for all your insights.

I got yesterday’s price on next week’s snap calls so I grabbed them.
I also did a run through on finviz and I am awestruck at the amount setups out there. I may loosen up my cash position a little bit as long as this many good setups across this my sectors Are still out there.

Sold next week’s TWTR calls for 175 percent a little bit ago and yesterday sold 35 percent of SNAP calls for 500 percent or so – have the rest for this coming week. I’ll revisit TWTR Monday morning if it looks good. Picked up some TSLA next week near money call on the 261 print
