BEST CYBER MONDAY DEALS

Best deal on the web right now is a ticket to iBC Q4 Boot Camp. We start Monday so don’t delay on getting yourself a seat for this years grand finale. Content is locked and loaded. You won’t be disappointed.

As a consumer, I am considering upgrading some computer equipment. I found this: Acer 35″ Curved HD Monitor for $499. I couldn’t find that less than $899 anywhere else.

You guys have any other deals out there in this category? I’m looking to upgrade some things, might as well start while it’s cheap.

I just built a new rig and it only takes 14 seconds from pushing the on button to boot up into my screens.

I built it. Bought all the parts on AMZN.

As far as reliability my 10 year old rig still runs like a top.

These days just being on the Net ruins the computer so refreshing at least 2 times a year is advisable.

That is speed. Would you mind sharing some of the components you put on this bad boy? I am upgrading by the end of the year.

By simply upgrading the RAM and installing an SSD HD, you can get a lot of miles out of a PC/Mac you thought was a POS.

My 2010 Mac boots Yosemite in less than 14 seconds, spent $125 upgrading the RAM and installing a SSD.
Was ready to throw the thing against the wall and shell out $800-$1k for a new one until I tried this.

Now happy as a pig in shit.

For PCs, take a look at this site, it’s great for people just getting started, walks you through the whole thing, and you can see what others build, for ideas:

            For Mac upgrades, check out:

I did the same thing to my 5 year old MacBook Pro. More ram and an ssd. It’s like a new computer.

This cost me $500 shipped with Windows 10 free.

Mac’s run on a decades old OS better suited for the 1980’s. Sooner or later they will have to bite the bullet and upgrade.

Hear ya there. I hate apple’s sandbox, but I really enjoy the fact the components are spec’d for each other and the lack of constantly updating/patching like Windows.

Do you mind sharing what you mean by “refreshing at least 2 times a year”. Relative tech neophyte here, but wanting/needing to move myself up the ladder for business needs. To quote a friend of mine, “I know just enough to be dangerous”, which puts me in charge here.

By refreshing I mean I reinstall the OS including formatting the hard drive. (Uncheck Quick Format to do a low level format, this will get rid of any trace of garbage and repair bad sectors).

Back up all of your stuff on a separate hard drive from your OS drive. So for instance my C drive is just for the OS. I save all of my files on a separate hard drive, that way I can reformat and reinstall without losing anything. (Back up your bookmarks frequently).

I run the Windows 10 Edge browser with the Ad Blocker extension and Microsoft Security Essentials. Don’t let anyone tell you that Firefox or Opera are faster or more secure, they’re not.

Gorgeous move in $JD. Looks like we only got a check to the middle (so far).

$DRE is making me hate everything about myself. From nearly 10 bagger to $0 because I was greedy on those last 50 cents to $22.50. Still 2 weeks for it to come back but i am very grumpy.

OPEC is losing control, literally. Slowly, in the background, the Texas RR Commission is taking over. This is bringing stability back into the energy market. The sooner this happens the better.
