OA BUY: $FIT

Hard to ignore this chart here. Even if you aren’t a believer, or prefer not to trade what some consider to be dogshit, I’d rather bet against the guys hiding out in this as a short.

2016-09-29_9-35-20The spot is amazing, the space above is worth exploring over time. 34% of the float is held short.

Why does it feel like everyone is moving to cash simultaneously? This oil move is complete BS.

I am so confused. I got out of my DB calls for a loss when it was down 3% .. now it’s down 7% and they are worth almost more than what I paid for them. Is this the game of IV?

No game, both calls and puts go up as IV goes up.

Thanks OA… velth, I didn’t mean in a way that its being manipulated. I have seen lots of price destruction in my account when stocks have fallen 7%. I would also say that the VIX going up 16%+ today may have something to do with calls and puts going up

Slid a small portion of $WDC into $FIT. That profile really is something.

I never know how much time to buy when looking at a profile like this. I decided to split the difference to November. Was thinking about January, but based on the number of positions I have on in Nov-Dec-Jan expiry, it seemed unlikely that I would hold it through the new year.

I have $NXPI calls. The stock is up on news. Is there a rule of thumb that when a stock moves on talk of acquisition, it stays up (unlike a no news squeeze)? I don’t want to sell too early, but I’ve never had a gain like this…

Wow, great move. If it’s a definite bid, the stock usually stays up. But if it’s just talk, it can drop, base, or run higher. What would you like less – booking a huge gain, and missing out on an even bigger gain, or watching a huge gain decay?

I put in a limit to close at a gain I will be very happy with, regardless of what it does afterwards. If I miss a greater gain, I know Jeff will put me in front of another opportunity.

Crapped out of my recent STMP and SYNA positions but THS position holding up nicely. Nothing more exciting than a senior living facility stock but BKD is holding trendline for now.

OA.. nice call on AMBA. I hesitated and lost for now.

Days like this are constructive in flushing out stocks puffed up with air.

I think they’re a solid company that’s been oversold. I closed my previous ZOES position a month ago in the mid 36s, and I think it’s a bargain at these prices so I bought back in at 22.50

I’m looking to study behavior up against huge volume profiles (re: $NMBL). I’m trying to see how other instruments with such a gigantic crater in the profile have behaved. It’s tapped at the upper end of this volume a couple of times, but never given it a real shot. I’d like to see how other names that successfully ran a profile this size have behaved in the past, but I’ve only been around a few years so I don’t know a lot of the hall of fame profiles. Does anyone have a few offhand I could study?
