There cannot be a difference between foods when the presence of an ‘organic’ label is the only difference.
The nutritional profile of broccoli is essentially the same regardless of whether the nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium it received while growing was organic or synthetic. People are so easily duped. I have no problem if people buy organic to avoid pesticides, but to think that organic vegetable A has a markedly better nutritional profile than conventional vegetable A is kind of ludicrous. Now, one can argue that organic growth can provide a host of micro-nutrients that synthetic fertilizers cannot, but in general there is little difference.
This study reminds me of people who eat a “gluten free” diet and think they are eating healthier. Um, unless you have celiac (in which case, it is “healthier”), you are just ingesting an alternative form of carbohydrate with an equal number of calories.
