    See: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alimony

For marriages in Texas more than 10 years, alimony is lesser of $2500 or 40%, and only for 3 years.

Good friend getting divorced now, his biotch of a soon-to-be ex-wife is going to end up in some shitty apartment, then homeless after that. (should have thought of that before she bonked semi-vagrant neighbor down the street).

Did you know husbands from elsewhere move their families to Texas, establish Texas residency, then divorce them? Different friend’s neighbor did this, moved here from NJ or Va or something like that.

    God bless Texas.

I had a friend where opposite happened.

He was living in Texas w. biotch wife (they were both from Va) and she convinced him to move back to Va so “they could reconcile.”

BS. She divorced him within minutes of landing there.

If she is now disconnected from his future income stream, he made a good deal.
btw- a friend has a wife who is determined to stay put because of favorable alimony laws. Of course if they divorce, she WILL move to a favorable alimony state because of climate and other reasons, but not until she extracts money she can get here in a divorce.

OK, second cup of coffee now. She does get equity. Perhaps he can start new companies and shut her out?

Here’s why the header is wrong. She’s only getting 40% of his bidnesses. That’s where the bulk of his net worth (i.e., “assets”) is/are.

So the 70% number is bullshit… probably liquid assets.

    Means shinola.
