However I maintain that regardless of that point of view the assertion that the argument against the OWS movement based on the actions of a few is a straw man. I think it would be a shame if we allowed the stereotyping of this movement to ruin an opportunity to get money out of politics.

You can’t judge the tea party by these people, likewise you can’t judge the OWS movement by the vagrants. Additionally comparing the tea party to the OWS movement is a joke as the tea party was never as popular, large, or committed and quickly got hijacked by the republican party. So much so in fact that numerous early supporters of the tea party have now distanced themselves from the “movement.”
The overwhelming majority of the people who opt to be homeless and protest are vagrants. That does not mean your message is flawed. It simply means they are.
