Everybody Say the Word: Gen..Gen…Genocide

NOTE: chessNwine Commentary:

While Moammar Gadhafi is indeed a scumbag and likely behind the Pan Am flight 103 bombing that killed many Americans, the West could at the very least say that he is a known quantity, and a KNOWN evil. The headline on the DrudgeReport.com at the time of this writing is a link to THIS STORY detailing how rebel forces and armed civilians in Libya have rounded up and jailed black Africans, accusing them of supporting Gadhafi. There is no telling how ugly this will get, precisely because we are now dealing with an UNKNOWN enemy, not unlike the situation we saw earlier this year in Egypt. The coverage on CNN and other idealistic news networks has been misguided at best, and blindly ideological at worst. To imply that democracy loving, college educated, “OMG social media” using kids have overthrown these dictators should be called a Mickey Mouse operation of yellow journalism, but then again that would be an insult to Mickey Mouse. I have see few people consider the possibility that the events in Egypt and Libya, and throughout the Middle East during Arab Spring, could actually lead to even worse regimes.

oh, you mean like when our CIA basically installed the Shah of Iran, then he got overthrown, so we backed Saddam Hussein to fight our new enemies in Iran, who we then gave the boot after he turned on us?

Or do you mean how we backed the Afghan guerrillas (read – Osama Bin Laden) against the Russian invader-imperialists and then the Afghan guerillas turned into the Taliban, gave Osama amnesty, where he launched an attack against us?

Or are you saying we should keep backing the dictators Mubarak & Ghaddafi, as in the good old days? And as we sort of officially back dictators, behind the scenes we have the CIA doing all they can to incite a peoples uprising against the dictators we back?

Or, are you saying we should quit meddling in other parts of the world, as Ron Paul says the same and has been saying forever?

they were mostly lured there for work and making decent money. read a piece in the trib today about it. seems as though a few years ago gaddaffy hired africans as his personal body guards,so now all these rebels think that all the rest of the africans are his sympathizers. these people were car mechanics and shop workers etc.now they are afraid to leave their homes for food,in fear these rebels will kill them..the un is not stepping up and getting into the rebels’ faces like they are supposed to be doing,”for their implied duty f or humanity”… fuck the un

World politics is often very unsavory and ugly business. Our government is forced to play with the hand it is dealt by circumstances beyond its control. (and yes, for you liberal AGW socialistic bed wetters, there are many things it cannot control.

Thus the old saying keep your friends close and your enemies closer.

Of course they will lead to worse regimes. When the Arab world “expresses itself” it does so with support for jihad, so expect jihadist regimes to take power.

The clowns on CNN ignore reality. In Egypt, the “rioters” hold up nazi symbols and chant for the removal of Israel and killing of Jews. This is the beacon of democratic liberation that CNN wets its pants over. The Libyan Rebels were also shown to have ties with Al Qaeda, but certainly these were not college kids with che guevara tshirts running with molotov cocktails against tanks. These are highly trained, heavily armed, vicious opportunists.

Genocide is the killing of entire races or populations, a la the Turks and the Armenians or the Nazis and the Jews.

This would be a mass murder, perhaps, if carried out, but not a genocide.

Let’s not water down serious terminology.
