Arab League Criticizes Allied Air Strikes on Libya

CAIRO (AP) — The head of the Arab League has criticized international strikes on Libya, saying they caused civilian deaths.

The Arab League’s support for a no-fly zone last week helped overcome reluctance in the West for action in Libya. The U.N. authorized not only a no-fly zone but also “all necessary measures” to protect civilians.

Amr Moussa says the military operations have gone beyond what the Arab League backed.

    I’m having difficulty processing their complaint. Bombs are rather indiscriminate killing anything and anyone in range with abandon. What about this do they not understand?

      The AL is betting that this will get more coverage than their calls for support. Plus, they were probably hoping, in their calls for support, that Obama would vote present, and then they would use that in-action to further portray him as weak and impotent.

    The Arab League calls for the No Fly Zone and then attempts to distance itself from the imperial West. They are afraid that if Ghaddafi survives he will target them for assassination. Gutless bastards.
