Happy Birthday, Son

Good morning gladiators – It has been 372 days since my last post and much has happened but I’ll get to that in a sec. Today is my youngest’s 2nd birthday. He made his way to Elysium a little over a year ago but we will continue to celebrate here on earth.

I, along with several of my legionnaires, have been training tirelessly for the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Columbus Marathon. Our team has raised over $15,000 to date. This race holds a special place in my heart as my son spent the majority of his life at this hospital. As the race begins this Sunday, I humbly ask for your donation to a hospital that provides excellent care for those that can and cannot afford it here in the central Ohio area. You can donate online here http://nationwidechildrens.kintera.org/childrenschampions2014/bryersdad

If you’d rather get something tangible in return, we are also selling a new version of the Bryer’s Song T-Shirt at http://www.bryerssong.com. All proceeds from shirt sales go to benefiting families at Nationwide Children’s Hospital of medical fragile children.

Lastly, I have been put in charge of managing the coffers of a very successful private software company. The encounters I’ve had already with corporate side money management is, well, comical. More later.

Good luck all and thank you.

Hello All – I know I’ve hardly had a presence here but wanted to inform those few who wondered what has happened to me. Over the course of the past 11 months, my youngest son has been in the hospital 205 days. He sadly passed on September 12 after a battle with several medical issues.

The lead sponsor for the Columbus Marathon this year is Nationwide Children’s Hospital and they selected him before he passed as a Patient Champion. At each mile, they will station a former patient and tell his/her story. Bryer, my son, was selected for mile 21. I will be running the marathon in his honor and ask for your gracious donation in his name to help support the NICU at Nationwide Children’s Hospital where he spent the majority of his life.

You can donate here http://nationwidechildrens.kintera.org/bryerssong

We also are selling shirts that commemorate his signature hair at www.bryerssong.com and all proceeds benefit the NICU as well.

Lastly, you can continue to follow his legacy on facebook at http://www.facebook.com/bryerssong

Thank you all so much.

It is quite obvious my loyal subjects miss/need me. I rarely come here anymore as I deal with Neonatologist after Neonatologist tell me my son is a mystery. The whole doctor rotation thing is one of the most ridiculous concepts in modern medicine by the way. So I’ll just leave you with some Jesus:

Good Evening,

Update, as requested:

I am eternally moved by the outpouring of grace and concern that has billowed in these holy parts of the world wide web that is iBankCoin. My youngest is doing much better, as they have taken him off oxygen today. His ascites is under control with Lasix but we still have no answers. Several tests are outstanding, including specific genetic testing relating to Lysosomal Storage Diseases (If anyone has any experiences with these I would greatly appreciate some insight). Testing for the LSD’s is essentially the last thing they are looking for as every other test has come back negative. They are very rare and dangerous diseases making the wait that much more unbearable. I ask for your continued prayers, chants, hymns, etc.

This PICC line in the side of his head was finally taken out as well this week:

Asking For Your Prayers Or Whatever You Do…

I humbly ask for your prayers, good thoughts, sacrifices or whatever you do for my littlest one. This is extremely out of my nature to ask and share such personal situations publicly but this guy needs anything he can get. He coded yesterday and the doctors have ran every test under the sun to no avail. He has an abnormal amount of fluid in his belly and his liver is slightly enlarged. This will most likely be my final post, as I need to get with Le Fly and discuss the possibility of a special election for a new tabbed blogger. Thank you all for the kind words and messages I have received. To make this finance related, the people’s portfolio is updated here and, obviously, there will be a delay in getting around to @reformedbroker’s book review.

Graciously Yours,

MAXIMUS
