________________

Please don’t come looking for market advice today.  I am in Nirvana, without Kurt Cobain, after my Giants have destroyed the Green Bay Slackers in the Chilly Tundra of Green Bay.  This was despite a ridiculously bloated spread (disrespect), and the full participation of the referees for the Cheesehead Cause.

Thank you Hakeem, Eli, Victor, Ahmad, Osi, Justin and of course, Jay Pee Pee.  You gave me a great, if undeserved day today.

And let me just say, fifteen wins or not, if you have the worst defense in the league, that stuff is going to bite you in the ass sooner rather than later.  Especially in the playoffs.  Note also that the Saints — perhaps the best offense at home in the entire league, could not get it done against the best defense in the league.  Granted, they came damn close (sorry RC), but in the end, it’s defense that wins championships.

I would even go as far as to say that the Raven SHOULD beat the Pats next week, thanks to their dominant defense.  However, I won’t make that call because the Pats are coached by the greatest defensive mind in the National Football League, perhaps ever.  Belichik could construct a playoff-capable defense out of six fat crossing guards and a 100-meter ball of sticky packing twine.   Never, ever count him out.

I know that in my “Jakerodamus” picks thought the Giants would be “one and done” in the playoffs, but this is a brand new team I’m seeing here.  Will they continue to not make dumb mistakes?  Continue to make clutch catches, clutch runs and most important — clutch sacks?  I can envision it.  I really can.

I believe.

Thank you all for putting up with my obsessions.

I’m still waiting to hear some explanation about the those calls. They should have to explain them, especially the non-fumble so clearly seen in the video. Moot now I guess. Congrats!

Right. Even the commentators had to change their tune 2nd half) after our Giants overcame the “bookie-like” adversity.

It’s like I was saying, NY’s playing two teams, the Packers and the black/white pin striped suits with whistles.

It will be interesting if any inquiry is made on this Levine guy… At least three very big blown calls that could have cost us (fumble, the bad spot (off by about two yards), and the Osi “roughing the QB” call).

I will be checking the papers to see. Really, refs should not be able to get away with such egregious calls in the age of “review.”

I recall mentioning that I had a good feeling about your boys.

I think the run by Bradshaw before halftime was probably the play of the game. Without that they don’t even have a shot at the bomb to Nicks.

Rogers had that “Tom Brady in Super Bowl XLII” look all day. Of course, his receivers dropping 9 balls also has something to do with that. Time and time again, being able to pressure the QB with 4 guys is unquestionably the best defense against these modern passing offenses.

That NFC championship game is going to be fun…NY v. San Fran playoff games are always epic.

Congrats on a great victory, Jake. Savo(u)r it! Let’s hope you’re wrong about Baltimore, though. I’m hoping my Pats and your Giants will meet at the Superbowl.

Jake, We really enjoyed the game, even with the bad officiating. The whole family was cheering on the NY Football Giants, and groaning at the bad calls.

We would love for a Giants Patriots Superbowl. It will make for some interesting family dynamics. 🙂

We’ve got that this weekend already. I’ve got a gaggle of uncles and cousins (and one brother who will root for the Giants) out in Marin County.

They love they (sic) Niiiiiinerrrrzz out there.

Enjoying the inevitable SB Giants/Pats match up myself. Giants are clicking on all cylinders.

One note: Ravens do not have a dominant defense. Look under the hood. Their wins came against horrendous offenses, save Pitt and marginally, Houston. The one potent offense they did face was SDiego, who thrashed them.

Pats will carve up Balty this weekend.

Giants should beat San Fran. Wild card is Alex Smith. If he doesn’t turn the ball over, Giants could have a dogfight on their hands.

Giants need to NOT turn the ball over against San Fran. That’s what decided the last game– five costly TO’s.

Let’s just hope the referees aren’t the same ones that were all but playing for Greenbay!

NY in SF!!! Hahahha. Talk about the World of the World colliding.

        GIANTS!

We are looking forward to the rematch. This time will be different. Revenge is a plate best served cold, but that will never happen on a super Sunday. So we will take it tepid warm. See you in 5 and a forth night.
