Actually, I think O’Donnell is going to make a race of it. Obama and Biden both in Delaware within the last week means they wouldn’t waste their time there if the internal polls didn’t show her within striking distance. As usual, turnout will be key and right now it looks like the Democrat turnout will be light.
It is going to be surprisingly close. She just might pull it out in a nail biter.
Truthfully, it won’t be our finest hour if the Littlest Witch wins, but what the heck, consider the alternative.
The guy who’s running against her is an older alum of my school, and he’s a proud commie. I can just see him adorning the cover of our next alumni magazine, like Rahm Emmanuel’s brother, the doctor-euthanasia advocate who’s helping craft O’Bama’s healthcare panels did, some two years back.

That is a good point. There aren’t many safe races for the Democrats.
I would like to see O’Donnell win. I enjoy watching lefties heads explode and besides, this is an open seat so she would be seated immediately and be a reliable vote against any lame duck Congress shenanigans.
Truth be told however, O’Donnell has already served a couple of purposes. She toppled the RINO Castle and sent shock waves through the Republican establishment. You could almost see the party snap back to the right.
The other thing she has done is draw away media scrutiny from Angle. The media has focused on O’Donnell, probably sensing that she would be a weak candidate. This has allowed Angle, who has had her share of gaffs, to run a pretty effective campaign by not being put on the defensive with focused media attention. O’Donnell received the brunt of that instead.
And truthfully, although O’Donnell would probably be fine, I’d rather see Reid out of there.
I never thought we could have a Senate Head worse than Tom Daschle, but Harry Reid is, if anything, more venal and corrupt than Lobbyist-Husband Tom.

I agree.
However, one thing I wish Republicans would learn from Democrats , including Reid, is that politics is a blood sport. Whether you agree with them or not (and I don’t), the Dems play hardball. Reid and Pelosi rammed their agenda through Congress in a raw display of political power.
Republicans would never have done that. For example, a few years ago, the Senate was split 50-50 with Vice President Cheney casting the tieing vote. That means the Republicans should have been the majority by the tie breaker. Instead, they came up with some gay “power sharing” structure which lasted until Democrats could flip a Republican to their side. Democrats would have said, “Hey, we’re the majority. Deal with it”
The elected Democrats fight harder for their ideals than the current crop of Republicans do. We need to elect Republicans who are willing and capable to engage them and win in the political arena.
I can’t stand MSNBC so I didn’t know Mr. Tingles Chris Mathews had lost his hope and change. He does have a tiny shred of common sense…who knew. The last video is awesome. Thank you for sharing.

Just voted. Place was packed like I’ve never seen it. Mucho dust bumping and high fiving all around.
We have the same thing here. I’ve been clerk of our township for 14 years and have a fair handle on how interested people are in a given election. I’m looking for record turnout for a mid term. Our absentee ballots ran 150% above what they usually do.
What’s going to be interesting to see is how many jurisdictions through out our fine state run out of ballots as, from what I understand, the state shorted many by as much as 25%.
In addition, there was a snafu in the printing process which caused a nearly statewide delay in delivery. Enough so that I know some of the overseas people (IE: servicemen and women) will not get theirs back in time to be counted. As of this morning 8% of the absentee ballots I sent out have not been returned. Gotta go check the mail.
I heard there was a concentrated effort to deny the military ballot this year — especially in Illinois. Go figure, eh?
