(Lights up, Joe Mantegna on a straight wooden chair, simple table, lone ash tray and lighter on top) (Single spot on Joe)
(lighting Marlboro Red) Look. Look here. Look, I will tell you what. I will tell you this. This is what I will say.
These PPT guys. These guys. These PPT guys. (inhale, hold)
What? There are women too, yes. (exhale) Yes. Women and guys. PPT guys and women.
This is what I will say: These PPT guys can pick some stocks. Some fucking stocks. You would not… No you would NOT. I assure you, you would not. There is no way you would.
What? What? NO! I cannot…. I can NOT. No, I canNOT. I cannot give you that information. About the stocks. About the picks.
(getting animated)
You see, these picks. The PPT picks. The PPT picks are for closers. Closers. These PPT guys? They are always closing. They are always winning. They are… how can I describe it? How can I describe it to you? (checks watch)
Okay, okay. Hold on. Hold on a minute. (drag on cigarette) Hold on. I will tell you. (Exhale)
There is a guy there. His name is “I-Win.” I shit you not. His name is “I Win.” Can I be clearer? Hello? Hello? The man’s name is “I win.”
He has a cat. What? A cat, yes, but that… But that is not important. Let me tell you, that is not important. What is important is this:
I Win does two things. He closes, and he wins. He wins and he closes. It’s simple. It’s magic. It’s simple magic. His name… the man’s NAME is“I Win.” He wins. Am I clear?
(drags on cigarette, holds)(pause) (exhales)
Sometimes, even… sometimes, I win too, when I Win wins! (animated) Other people win too! Would I shit you? Would I? I would not. I would not shit you.
No. Stop. Full stop. STOP. STOP. This is wrong. This is all wrong. This is wrong. (Pause) Let me… no, stop. (Pause) Let me start again. (glances at watch)
(Ten beats)
Have you spoken to the Fly? (pause to look at audience, make eye contact)
I asked if you have spoken to the Fly? The Fly, he is the one. The one to tell you. He will tell you. Why would he not tell you? He would tell you.
He will tell you the same thing. Hell, anyone would tell you who has seen it. Anyone who has seen it. Not just the Fly. Anyone. Anyone would.
Do you think I would not tell you? I would. I am. I mean I am telling you. I have seen it. We have seen it. They have all seen it. (Pause)
It is extraordinary. (pause)
“Extraordinary,” yes I said that. But they all say that. “Extra-ordinary.” Like that. Say it like that. Say it. No – You say it. (pause)
You need… to ask…. the Fly. He. Will. Tell. You. He will tell you about the picks. The PPT picks. He will tell you about the PPT picks.
(One last look at watch). Okay. Okay. (pause)
Okay, here is one, here is one. Here is one. One. SQNM. [[SQNM]] is one.
Do not ask for more. Do not. Do not ask.
(lights dim, stabbing out cigarette in ashtray, fade to black) (/scene)

Bravo! (“The Fly” throws wilted flowers and a six pack of beers onto the stage)
Thx, that took me a lot fucking longer than I thought it would.
_________
Fly, do me a flavah and check if you can read my Twitter twits from today.
They emailed me today to say it was “all a mistake” but I still cannot see anyone else’s updates. Very odd.
______________
This, this post. This is a thing of beauty. Yes. Beauty.
Now I have to go smoke a cigarette.
Hear! Hear!
Encore!
Nice fuckin’ post.
Nice.
FUCK!
“Thx, that took me a lot fucking longer than I thought it would.”
Welcome friend. You’ve made it.

Seriously Jake, that was excellent.
You Crazy…!
Nice.
Long steak knives.
Jake – that was very good …..kudos…you have a good ear – are you a writer in real life? What is your vocation, if I might ask? Also, how can I follow you on twitter? what name do you use? Thanks – I am a fan! Great stock picks too…mrs buttons
Everyone, thanks much.
Mrs Buttons- I am on Twitter under Jakegint. They screwed up my account last week however, (they claim someone hacked my sign in, but I didn’t see any evidence of that) and I’m not sure its completely back “up” yet. Give it a shot tomorrow.
I am not a writer by profession, no, but I dabble. I’m in the deal business.
__
Jake’s in the deal business…
damn, that was way cool Jake.
ABC’s – Always Bank Coin.
jack, any thoughts on SUN? thank you.
Jake is a funny guy.
Sir, that was the most extraordinary thing I’ve read all week. I had to stop and read the whole thing out loud, with correct inflection.
Earned myself the set of steak knives today, but it sure beats what Kobe just earned himself on behalf of the Lakers. Still a good game, though.
And now I have to queue up an old favorite: Glengarry Glen Ross: Ultimate Abuse Mix.
When the market today is “Quiet as an ant, not even thinking about pissing on cotton” — then a blog post like this is a refreshing change from all the “cute-as-a-pail-full-of-kittens” finnies-sites!! Bravo, gee.
This is a must “read out loud with correct inflection” post
This is why I nominated you for tabbed blogger, this is GREAT!
Well done Jake.
You are a class act Jake! As fun to read as some of the old classic Fly posts.
ROFL at “He has a cat. What? A cat…”
Quite the accomplishment getting iwin to post a response on the blog! Keep up the good work!
We should get this in video.
Thanks everyone, I’m abashed. And yes, I did want to see if I could get iWin out of his cave.
__
Fly- do you think Joe Mantegna is available? 😉
_
Frigging awesome!!!! yes, get it in video!
JakeGint will play Joe Mantegna in the video. Coming soon?
Jake or anyone else: Do you see long TBT as a good long-term play? Jake, I have read that your (maybe first?) target is $60. After that, though?
Great post Jake. Enjoyed it thoroughly.
Fantastic post keep it up Jake!
Crude– I am not huge on the refiners right now from a technical standpoint. TSO has been very disappointing to me as I thought it would be well over $18 by now.
That said, SUN is still consolidating in that triangle, and I would not sell it until it busted $25 to the downside. I wouldn’t buy here either, though.
_______________
JakeGint will play Joe Mantegna in the video.
JakeGint looks so unlike Joe Mantegna it’s not funny. Think more like Ed Harris in GGGR, with more hair.
_____________
Anon — TBT is the play of the decade. I see $60 as a short term goal, probably some pullback from there.
___________
TC and TIE cannot be denied. or TIEd.
____________
I have been putting a lot of my SEP IRA money into TBT so I hope I can hold it for a long time =)
nice one, JG. I’m also getting a Dennis Hopper “Apocalypse Now” hit off this.
Anon, just keep in mind that TBT is a double ETF, and volatile.

Yossarrian: You mean the scene in the cages?
“When it dies… when HE dies, what are they going to say about him? That he was a WISE maaaaan? That he was a KIND maaaan? No way maaaan…”
___________
eggzactly, man.
“That The Fly was a WISE maaan, man? That The Fly was a KIND, maaan?”
“I asked if you have spoken to the Fly? The Fly, HE is the one. The one to tell you. He will tell you. Why would he not tell you? He would tell you.”
“That The Fly was a WISE maaan, man? That The Fly was a KIND, maaan?”
ps- edit button blows
UUP Alert: Longer term (7/14/08 to 10/27/08) fib charts show the 61.8 fib (ie, “the golden ratio”) at 24.07.
We are currently a bit over 24.10 up 24 cent, but on relatively low volume. If it stays below that line, the market may recover.
If not… well.
There’s always the PM portfolio.
______________
Jake, I am interested in playing the “bond-bubble,” and from reading you guys I feel that the main consensus is that TBT is the way to go. Can you suggest a different route?
Anon —
Well, you can short TLT too. Or short the actual 10 year itself, or any US bond or corporate bond.
I like TBT because it’s a double ETF, but is less volatile than most of those.
Going with the PM’s is also a good inflation hedge which is usually what causes the bond bubble to burst.
