Some reasons to truly love Canada (in alphabetical order):
Elisha Cuthbert – Calgary, Alberta
One last reason to love Canada. Great Canadian Investigative Journalism, regarding FNM and FMC:

Both [[GG]] and [[AUY]] are coming back strong, but the $HUI has bonked against $400 a third time here… not “going away” but still showing opportunities to accumulate. [[NG]] has gone parabolic. Hold on tight, it looks like liquidities are continuing to go into commodities and some crazy biotechs. Trade accordingly. Best to you all.

WTF is this shit? Is this iBankCoin or Trading Goddess blog?
I use to live(Toronto) down the street from Rachel McAdams. Use to see her at this club I went to
Agreud.
Except for Latimer – really?
Also, this list is egregiously incomplete without Emmanuelle Chriqui and Tricia Helfer.
Especially Ms. Chriqui. She’s got a permanent spot in the DPeezy Top 5.
Sorry, Sister Mary Albert.
I thought I’d try to patch up our Canadian-U.S. relations in an act of interegional appreciation.
But maybe I should blog about how the world is going to end in a fiery ball of slag instead of posting great long term picks and the occasional political, babeological OT?
Please, guide me.
__________
^I found myself asking the same thing. You know shes a heavy-set puerto rican man with a gravy stain on her lapel?
Look – they’re all good, but Canadian girls do not deserve a forum. Throw some Brazilians up there, or a couple eastern euros and you won’t hear shit outta me.
Also, this list is egregiously incomplete without Emmanuelle Chriqui and Tricia Helfer.
You are correct, it’s incomplete. Truthfully, I just went to Wikipedia and pulled the first four names that I recognized.
I plan to augment, and maybe have a weekly Canadian Appreciation post.
That is, if I can get Sister Regina St. Stephen of the Bloody Rude’s permission.

Btw — Latimer was a name I picked because I thought I knew who she was. Turned out I was thinking of someone else, but I liked that photo. Nice eyes. I still don’t know who she is, or what she’s in.
____________
Just wanted to say thank you Jake.
You do very nice work. We have a lot of the same same stuff derived independently and I’m full up or I’d be looking into the others you have but the main reason for posting here is to say thank you for your efforts as you put a lot into it and you are on the right track IMHO.
All the best
Fabain

The Canadian-American rift was the deepest, so I attended to that first. If Phil shows up again, maybe we’ll do a Brazilian relations day as well.
I’d have to think about the Eastern Euro thing, as I’m not as familiar. Maybe our Slavic readers can be of assistance.

Anon — Rachel McAdams may be my favourite (sic) thus far.

lol–Jake pissed off the boss.
I love me some Elisha Cuthbert.
Is bad juxtaposition the correct word? I scroll down and Egad! Burney boy appears.
Contractor —
What red blooded North American male would not?
XXX-
Speaking of someone who would not… 😉
Yes, a little bit of sour to go w. the sweet.
Full disclosure — Shed sent me that vid! Lol.
_____________
What’s with all the bimbos? I like Barney and hot trannies tho…
Scum, sorry, but we do trend largely male in our demographic.
The Barney Fa Fa Comedy show was for you, tho.
___________
Jake, whaa hoppen? Why you playing the T&A card (albeit PG-rated)?
The last thing I need are these kinds of distractions.
What a shame you missed this one Canadian news clip:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1FKF4Z36hyQ
By the way, both CBC and Coulter were right on this.
Canada sent troops but they did NOT engage in fighting.

lol…Jake louds me out!
Enjoy the vid…
i was wrong. i do like Canadians
Fucking soft porn cowards.
Why hasn’t someone from a radical militia group not slotted out or culled , if thats more PC.a few dozen of these embedded fuckers in Congress
Jake, whaa hoppen? Why you playing the T&A card (albeit PG-rated)?
I’m making so much coin on the picks, I figured I’d share the love with my Canuckistanian friends (some of my picks are Canuckistanian, too).

Chivas,
See, I told you they were not that bad.
Especially when they move to California.
_____________
It’s hard to think of Elisha Cuthbert the same way after knowing that she is just an easy fuck for everyone in the NHL.
And I think this is the video you meant to link:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zzwesPLxwSY
As for Canada, I am long EWC and FXC.
Cuervo — thanks for the update, I don’t know that this is the forum to be touting your country’s failure to stay true to it’s alliance agreements, however.
I’m trying to make this a pro-Canada post… help me out, ovah heah!
__________
Redshark, that’s not too far from child abuse, imho.
Nice chart on EWC!
__________
I agree, Jake, the Canadian government should have stepped up and prevented those horrible mongrels in the NHL from de-flowering one of their finest natural resources.
Oh, you meant the video. Yeah, but I got a kick out of it.
Sold 660 CDE @ $14.98 for a quick one day 6%. Looks like I might be on the green with CDE at last… left some on the table, but life required me elsewhere and these were just the trading shares.
Jake: You are doing a great job with the blogging (and the picks). I hope you can keep up this level of energy. I think your overall investment thesis is right on the money. The inevitable and continuing destruction of our currency is just about the most reliable “bet” one can make with respect to allocating assets for investment today. Finally, I can get my precious metal fixation tended to without leaving IBC. I am enjoying what you bring to this site.
That said, I agree with Fly. For a second there I thought that I had clicked on TradingGoddess’ link. I guess Canada does have more to offer than a politically stable and pro-mining climate for exploration and development. They appear to be minting something finer than .999 Maple Leaves up there.
Jake, you worried about TSO with HES VLO in the crapper?
Great work btw on the port.
Canadian troops minded the cease fire in 73 in compliance with treaties.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canada_and_the_Vietnam_War
Between 28 January 1973 and 31 July 1973, Canada provided 240 peacekeeping troops to Operation Gallant, the peace keeping operation associated with the International Commission of Control and Supervision (ICCS) Vietnam, along with Hungary, Indonesia, and Poland.[30] Their role was to monitor the cease-fire in South Vietnam per the Paris Peace Accords.[31] After Canada’s departure from the Commission, it was replaced by Iran.
Not sure what alliance agreement you’re talking about there Jake but, since Canada was part of ICCS, it sent peacekeeping troops to Vietnam.
Redshark — no, I was talking about Elisha.
We should send Jack Bauer, but unfortunately, it turns out he’s Canadian too.

Outdoors — Elisha is .9999 pure, or at least, she was until those ape NHL’ers got a hold of her.

Just another — I am concerned about TSO’s mushiness here, but then, I sold the $17.50’s (as disclosed some weeks back), so I’m hedged out about $2 right now.

Cuervo– all war is about peacekeeping, but I think allies should have their brothers’ backs, all technicalities aside.
______________
And I was pointing out how Ann Coulter happened to be right (for once) as part of the “bridge building” since I’ve been your foil in many of the recent discussions.
Why would you introduce Ann Coulter? When have I ever used her as a resource?
_____________
Actually, I offended you referring to her and my link was a means of recompense as it were.
That is not English.

Thanks Jake! Natasha has been a perennial favorite of mine, yet I have to admit she isn’t nearly as beautiful as the JCHP. Now that we are up 38% from the March lows, I wonder when the correction comes into play. I bought into PAAS (options only like a dummy) May 4th at 16.80 because of you. It has been a cash machine all the way thus far. I am still holding July 25 calls on this (making moolah!) Just curious as to what your target is on this. My first was 23.10 but now it is bull flagging above this level. Is 28.40ish possible by the July expiration in your opinion? I use 13, 34, 40 EMA’s on the weekly and it is looking like the crosses are coming leading to a lot more upside.
Thanks in advance,
JFF
Being the token Canadian here i would like to extend the warmest welcome and thank you to all of you who had the insight to invest in the great white north.
oil is good, gold is too, but let’s not forget the canadian banks.
Start sending your dosh over here. we will manage your savings.
… hopefully with all this money we’ll be able to buy back our national sport.
How in the world anybody thought that having an ice hokey team in a desert town was a great idea. let’s bring ’em back! first, rim guy brings one to hamilton. maybe some oil dude bring one to winipeg. then one to quebec city.
JFF —
I don’t know if you remember my weekly PAAS chart illustration from some time back, but I show two “target zones” of consolidation.
We’re well through the first one and into the bottom of the second. Now it looks like $27 is the next most viable target (if we don’t consolidate here at $23).
I will likely sell some calls (for a brief moment!) at that $27 target.
______________
Start sending your dosh over here. we will manage your savings.
My savings will do fine in your gold and earl (I even own some PGH), your banks are too close to your guvmint, and that makes me nervous.
Give me the Vancouver Exchange OTB guys over the Minister of Whatevah any day.

Indie —
And just think of it — Elisha will have much far less to travel…

Thanks for the reminder with those charts Jake. It all makes sense now, pretty much in free air until the next target zone. I think I will pick up some common if I can get a pull back into the 22.50ish area. I am loving these picks, I had picked up TC at 6.30 and again in the 7’s. I won’t even begin to tell you how much I love PCU and some of the gold plays you have mentioned. Accumulating some NG NGD and RGLD along the way. I haven’t played uranium at all yet. What is your take on this? I almost dabbled in some URRE awhile back around the .50 cent range and see its 3 times that now. Up a mere 30% just today on huge volume.
Now if I just had one of them miners hats to get a closer look at those Canadian babes…lol
Jake –
werd, but the cad banks make me steady flow of coins.
I sold my SU at the open and bought it at the close. I’m happy as a moose. i got myself some NGX (NXG on amex).
Bah, Canadian banks…chickens have yet to arrive for roosting purposes. Results reported last week were a goodly amount of smoke and mirrors. Growth prospects for them are poor.
I can see the mining industry in Canada being one of the targets for heavier taxation in the not-too-distant future. The governments at all levels here are cash hungry, and while you can’t squeeze blood from stones, you can get it from guys who can extract cash from stones.
I’m waiting for the BC provincial government to impose a ‘help pay for the bullshit winter games’ tax as well as a ‘holy shit there are a ton of retirees living here all in a sudden’ tax.
I haven’t really looked at the uranium miners in a while. I got scorched on CCJ a while back, but it’s been moving nicely here recently.
