Just watching the tape here. But looks like today’s economic data is sending some bears covering before the long weekend. That’s really all there is to see. I gotta head to the airport to pick up some people… I’m always doing that this summer. Maybe I should start a shuttle service business.

… this weekend my friend is getting married and I’m one of his grooms. Which means I will have to do something regretful like say a speech or sing a Buble song. Any advice? Let me know, I’m on my way to buy a lavender necktie (LOL).

bought some more CFSG yesterday
As far as toasting your buddy, just keep it short and sweet, those things last way too long and people will appreciate a short little speech.
Tell me about it! i went to another wedding 3 weeks ago and the wedding party name-dropped on half the people at the reception. you don’t really feel special when they thank you, then they thank their distance cousin’s 5-year old son for moving chairs around the ballroom.
Touching grooms men speeches are nice, funny ones are memorable!
the first 2 words caught me by surprise. lol.
Haha!
my advice on the best man speech: google it, and cut and paste. Most of what you’ll find is pretty stupid, but it’s fun to talk about in the speech!
haha. thanx for the advice guys. i’m not the best man, i dont think there is one, which is what i’m afraid of. but yeah, i’m new to this, and i hate giving advice and saying emotional stuff. But i do have a nice Ovation Guitar to back me up!
Good luck with the toast Gio – I’ve done a bunch and my advice is always the same; if you are tasked in advance, write it out. There’s absolutely no penalty for pulling out a piece of paper – and keep it to a minute or less. I always make it a bit of a roast, can’t help myself…
If it’s off the cuff – ask yourself what would James Bond do – my guess is maybe two sentences, kept on “file” in your head for just such a situation.
By the way, I spoke with HLCS today after reading your post about CTIC – thanks for the inspiration!
(this wedding is practice for another wedding. shhhhhhhhhhhh….)
Have a good one Gio. BTW, nice call on ARST!
Sing Mack The Knife. Have another groomsman play Sammy Davis and you Frank Sinatra.
and keep your guitar strap on at all times when playing the Ovation because those things slip right off your knee! 😀
Avoid the singing unless you are really good or everyone is drunk!
Lol.
