Very interesting to me to see Trump supporters coming out and backing up Trump’s claims that this is all a hoax. Talking about the virus means you’re anti Trump or short the markets, and on the side of the MSM. Wow didn’t see science vs. conspiracy theories working for this, but we have been following the virus from the start. I think a lot of people are just now learning about it.
They just identified 2 new cases in my fucking backyard. Seems like they are testing people faster than I thought. Looks like community outbreak is already occurring on the here on west coast. What’s going to happen when everyone has to take 2 weeks off from work at the same time?

If Trump shuts down borders and puts restrictsion on travel, trade will suffer, manufacturing will suffer, the economy will suffer, stocks will go down, Trump loses the election.
If he has completely open borders, the virus will spread like, well, a virus. Tens of thousands (best case scenario) of infections, Trump loses the election.
Containing this virus was never a realistic option, and still isn’t . All you can do is traige. Best-case scenario with a competant, leader who *actually trusts scientific experts over his own opinion*

To be perfectly clear, the upcoming COVID-19 US outbreak is one of the problems that I *don’t* (and won’t) blame Trump for.
Ironic that it is the one that will be his downfall, because unlike a hurricane hitting Puerto Rico, this natural disaster wil be felt by both republicans and democrat.
Also, it is not yet clear whetehr higher quality health care makes a differnce in COVID-19 outcomes. In that case, wealthier people (who also tend to be older) will actually be hit harder than poor people, simpely because they will be more likely to be exposed to the COVID-19 (more travel, more eating out, etc.).

Roubini is an infotainer with an agenda. First order of business is publicity. More publicity = more/higher speaking fees. 2nd is status quo. More of the same… If/when he’s wrong, he just moves to the next topic at the next tour stop.

For all we know, once they suspect you have COVID, they may take you out back, shoot you, and incinerate your body. That would certainly jack up the death count.
So far in the US, it’s been pretty mild but I wouldn’t be surprised if the left looks for ways to bring the virus here to hurt Trump.

I second that on not being a scam. Fear is purposely inflicted with headlines like “Now globally nearly 87000 cases” and nowhere in these articles there is a mention that nearly 43000 have recovered, which cuts the number of infected people in half… but no one reports that.
They only add new cases to the total and focus on the number of deaths.
