Bitter Sweet Epiphany

I think it’s fair to say The PPT intra-day OVERSOLD signal, posted yesterday, won again. With today’s 200 point rally, all of my stocks, with exception to one, rallied. GSVC dropped by 10%; but I added more sub $17, so I feel good about that. It’s important to buy the blood, small plebs, especially when the fundamentals are unscathed. If anything, the fundies of GSVC have just soared to the upside. Being a well capitalized VC firm is of paramount importance, particularly during a private equity boom.

I expect many of you to get flushed out on this weakness, just like you did with WNR, CVI, FTK and many more in between. I don’t fucking lose.

I sold out of GSS this morning, which was mentioned inside The PPT and 12631, one of the many benefits of membership. However, I did not sell any GORO. As you can see, the stock went gangbusters to the upside. Try to figure it out and your melon will explode.

With my 50% cash position and poorly performing GSVC holding, I only made 0.18% today, taking my gains to about 15.5%, year to date. For my personal, I am loaded up with DECK and CRZO calls, as well as common in GSVC, VCLK and GORO.

I ain’t very smart with the big words like “Epiphany” so I looked it up in the Urban Dictionary so that I can understand the Fly.
Here is the definition I found:
    3. epiphany
a smart-sounding word for realizing you’ve been practically retarded for quite some time.

    Now I understand the Fly.

Well played sir – love the fact that OB/OS ratings are just for PPT members now. Value should be paid for. You have created an amazing community here not only for minting coin but also for education – I do not joke when I say I have learned more in less than a year here than I did during 4 years at university (unless drinking counts as a life skill)

I was salivating when it hit $17 and then lost anything resembling a sac as it continued all the way down to the $16.30’s. My temporary saclessness cost me as I didn’t jump in until $17.40.

@Fly – It would be really nice if Jeremy could add a flag (or better yet flag and value) if PPT hybrid shows OS or OB intraday. It really is the best freaking tool in the universe to manage positions, bar none. Thanks again.

Supposedly due to progress in debt ceiling talks, although no deal has actually been made, meaning that the U.S. will not default on Treasury bond interest payments. TLT was catching up. It is still below the highs of last Wednes. and Thurs. that it made before it sold off on debt ceiling fears.

the question is. why would they need that money when they still got a couple more bullets. on their initial raising of funds. they had to raise more money anyhow. might as well be now.

Apparently so are all the “professional analysts”, even though this is the 11 consecutive monster beat in a row. Meanwhile several “amateur analysts” called it near right on. Rinse, repeat.

bullish, In June of 2010 I wrote an article on AAPL, with a crazy fibo resistance of 401ish that I thought it would never hit. Well, the Clam allowed that…my question, who would buy at this level with no clear resistance point.

        3) Yes Apple is a buy up here

Perhaps you guys didn’t see my post the previous day (before Apple’s earnings).

don’t bet too heavily on TBT, or at least over any length of time.

its subject to leverage reset decay exactly like FAZ, TNA, etc. And the theory of wildly exploding treasury yields is not founded in good understanding (or even any understanding) of modern monetary systems. look at japan, worlds lowest yields and worlds worst debt (or close in each case, anyway)?

if the government voluntarily defaults, yields could go weird, but in all reality the US government debt is $0, and we are in less risk of going broke on a government level than I am on a personal level and I have 12 cars, 2 houses, 2 paid for bars and a big ole brokerage account.

we have zero risk of going broke, except by choice, at a government level. the government does not need to generate revenue to spend nor is the traditional model of inflation and money supply accurate or relevant at all.

Agreed on the timing of TBT but disagreeon governent bonds.

Greece and Italy want low yields too and how did that work out?

For every Japan there are 5 coutries that have gone in the opposite direction bondwise.

I think TBT will be a winner but I wouldnt touch it until the Euro debt crisis either settles or severely worsens which will pressure our bonds.

i have had similar experiences with several BDC holdings. when the share price starts to move, management tends to kill the rally with a secondary. In general, buying the dip of the secondaries has worked. But holding into the un-announced secondaries is annoying.

In theory the BDCs take the new money and invest it and, in theory, this could lead to increased dividends which could lead to a higher share price, etc blah blah blah.

GSVC may cause similar consternation for investors going forward. I hope not, but its possible. The management has vested interest in growing the company, but with this kind of business model, growing the business doesn’t necessarily lead to growing share price, it can just lead to growing share count.

Anyone know why the Canadian Shale plays are down so much from a year ago?

Petrobakken saw their earnings cut in half and has initiated a capex plan. So I’m wondering if they and others are experiencing a drop off in production or is there a better explanation … cheap or played out?

US shale plays have better infrastructure in place. That makes our shit at least a little cheaper than Canada’s. When there is a huge oversupply, being more expensive is not going to do you any favo(u)rs.

      Cliffs notes version, anyway.
