Goldman Sachs Chief Equity Strategist on March 21, 2012 called it ‘Best time in a generation to buy stocks’. I have attached the charts of $SPY on the day when it was called. Have a close look at it and see where we are now. This is a best example of why you don’t act based on what people on TV say. One point to argue could simply be that since Goldman Sachs had a big equity position they need to unload i.e. sell it to buyers, therefore people who heard that comment on TV and started buying are now looking like bag holders, whereas people at Goldman have just made their big $$.
