12631 Monthly Summary

Today marks the first monthly anniversary of our 12631 service inside The PPT. Without exaggeration, I can tell you that 12631 has been an unqualified success. In a very short period of time, we have built a contagiously winning atmosphere inside of our state of the art chat room. Beyond that, RaginCajun and I have made good on our promise to outwork our competitors, as we have delivered a combined 266 posts over the past month, including charts and educational videos. Moreover, we were able to steer our members towards profits during the November correction, as we absolutely crushed the numerous retail/consumer discretionary short squeeze plays.

Please keep in mind that we have specifically designed our price point, at less than $30/month, to allow existing members of The PPT to freely try out our service. We remain committed to extrapolating on the algorithm’s various capabilities, and will always incorporate that into the content we provide.

If you are on the fence as to whether to join, don’t take my word for it–Ask one of our nearly 200 subscribers.

Repeat After Me: Retail, Consumer Discretionary

A full week ago, on Wednesday, November 17, I made this video, seen below, for members of the 12631 Trading Group. Essentially, I used The PPT algorithm in order to gauge which area of the market was going to offer the best returns over the next few weeks. Without question, the algo pointed me towards a bevy of retail/consumer discretionary names with massive short positions, but also with healthy charts despite the over 4% correction the market had seen from November 9-17. Even with the broad market weakness that we saw on Monday and Tuesday of this week, 12631 members have been absolutely crushing the retail trade, playing everything from BONT, to OPEN, to LULU.

This video is a pretty good example of the type of work that RaginCajun and I perform as part of our stated goal to extrapolate on The PPT algorithm for our 12631 members, in addition to doing our own independent work.

Have an enjoyable Thanksgiving everyone, and I hope to see you inside the “Pelican Chat Room” shortly, as Ragin and I continue to build a winning atmosphere full of traders executing with precision and discipline.

NOTE: The video only cuts me off one or two seconds at the end, so no material information is left out.

Exceptions to the Rule

NOTE: Much of the content of this post was originally published on Friday, November 12, 2010, at 9:20 a.m EST in 12631, a premium service for members of The PPT.

_______

I made the decision to hold my DDS position through earnings. Frankly, I went out of my way NOT to publicize it because, as I am sure you know by now, I am not the biggest fan of earning gambles. However, in this case I thought that I had enough factors in my favor to hold. For most rules, there are exceptions. In the case of holding a swing trade through earnings, I believe you should be able to articulate your reasons thoroughly and as objectively as possible. Indeed, inside 12631 we may even establish a separate chat room–a Tribunal, if you will–where members who want to hold stocks through earnings must present their case to the Tribunal before actually holding into the report.

In the case of DDS, here were my reasons:

  • Extremely constructive price action and outperformance in the days leading up to earnings. (EXHIBIT A: See chart below)

________

________

  • A low float combined with high short position–potential for huge squeeze (EXHIBIT B: Check any source, and although numbers may vary, there is still a huge short position in this name with a relative low float, i.e. HUGE short squeeze potential).
  • Overall strong momentum in the retail space over the past few months, especially after earnings (EXHIBIT C: See JCP JWN and majority of other retail names and how they have performed with broad market since Labor Day).

DDS is up roughly 10% in the pre-market on their earnings beat and subsequent short squeeze, and I will likely peel some of my position off into this strength today. Congrats to those of you holding.

As of 11/13/10, I have a 1/2 position left in DDS.

Details About 12631

Thanks to the great many of you who have provided encouraging feedback regarding the 12631 service set to launch this Friday, November 12.

To reiterate the key points:

  • 12631 will launch this Friday, which is when you will be able to sign up for it at the latest. There will be tabs and links on iBC and in The PPT pointing you towards the payment area, should you choose to join.
  • The service will feature a Trading Group led by RaginCajun and myself.
  • The trading room will have running blogs for both RC and myself, as well as separate rooms for charts and videos. There will also be real-time chat capabilities, Facebook style.
  • The service will only be available to members of The PPT, because we will not only frequently use the algorithm’s search capabilities, but we will take them one step further to give you the very best setups and timely market commentary.

Beyond that, RaginCajun and I will continue to post on iBankCoin. However, and I want to emphasize this point, we will only be posting broad, macro commentary. We will never take our subscribers for granted, and will thus make sure they come before everyone else. If we post any individual trading ideas on iBC, it will be well after the fact. We will also rarely post inside The PPT “User Notes” section on a going forward basis, save occasional macro commentary and keeping in touch with some of the great people with whom we have enjoyed working.

Finally, we are extremely proud of the reasonable price point that we are offering, especially when viewed in comparison to other premium services. For the first 100 subscribers, there will be a 10% discount off of the yearly fee. While these other premium services listed are fine sites led by talented traders, the fact remains that none of them offer the comprehensive algorithm PLUS trading room service that RaginCajun and I will provide.

On the chart below, you will see the combined pricing for The PPT + 12631 membership. So you know, 12631 individually works out to $29.95/month, 167.95/semi-anually, and $299.95/annually, not including the 10% discount.

We look forward to seeing you there.

The PPT: A Rare, Behind-the-Scenes Look

The PPT is much, much more than a mere broad market oscillator. In this video, The Fly has allowed me to give an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look into some of the key features of his proprietary algorithm, which have never before been made available to non-members.

Please keep in mind that there are plenty of other features inside The PPT that I did not even have a chance to get to in this video, so be sure to take the time to decide if a membership to The PPT is right for you. I can tell you from my own personal experience, long before I started writing for iBC, that being a PPT member improved my trading enormously due to the features that went well beyond just the broad market hybrid scores.
