Electric Shock

China electric car market KNDI pretty much epitomizes the tape this morning, with some herky-jerky moves into mild red after what figured to be a promising open at the bell. Overall, the market is drifting with select action in names like BBRY, which may very well cement a hated bottom if it can move over $12 into year-end.

The GPRO secondary is being digested fairly well so far, but that move by management seems to have slowed down the stock for the short-term.

I am long CLF and may add to it today. And I continue to stalk a reentry in prior winner APT over $3.40.

Also keep an eye on CYBR over $35, as that recent IPO had a strong open today.

Park Next to This Ebola Setup This Morning

After a sharp shakeout in recent weeks, protective gear maker APT put in a strong session on Friday.

On the 30-miute chart, below, note the coiling price action.

A move over $3.40 should see momentum trader pile back in for at least a quick pop, if not more.

Which stocks are at the top of your watchlists this morning?

Late Night Strategy for Monday

With beaten-down miners getting a sting bounce late-last week, perhaps the heavily-shorted laggard Westport Innovations in the clean energy space will follow suit this week.

On the daily chart, below, you can see the potential base bottom. A move over $6.30 likely sets the squeeze in motion for a potential 50-day moving average test. I would not be too aggressive in anticipating the breakout, though, as we are still dealing with damaged goods here, meaning a chart in a clear downtrend.

Drop me your top tickers overnight.

Red Rock West (1993) is a thriller with a big-time cast worth checking out. The films stars Nicolas Cage, Dennis Hopper, and Lara Flynn Boyle, among others (such as Dwight Yoakam and J.T. Walsh).

Also be sure to check to the talented, country music-dominated soundtrack featuring: Johnny Cash, Shania Twain, Toby Keith, The Kentucky Headhunters, and Sammy Kershaw.
