Thanks for this, Chess
You play the game to win. The preface regarding arrogance is a joke. This man was the ultimate leader. He prepared and executed like no other in the game and demanded the same from his teammates. He accepted nothing less. When you didn’t perform, he didn’t whine to the media and cry to his coach about your lack of preparation or performance. He got in your face and told you you sucked. No one defined ‘leader’ like MJ. I consider myself fortunate to have such a great example during my formative years to emulate. Hat tip to the master.
I miss your movie pics on Sat. Night
“He got in your face and told you you sucked.” (chedda)
Seriously…, chedda?
Looks like there is an extremely fine line between being an obsessed winner and being an insufferable shithead.
I have always enjoyed the story of Bill Cartwright responding to being verbally humiliated by Jordan with the bon mot, “If you ever embarrass me again, I will break your legs.”
Mister Obsessed Winner somehow found restraint. Like all bullies, he was dependent on his bluff not being called.
