I had a few 3dfx cards, they were great products. Too bad 3dfx’s management screwed up. But the graphics hardware industry turned out to be a tough one.
Basically, you can be a trailblazer and set a new industry standard; but to hold onto your market share afterward will be entirely a different matter. So far, AAPL is fighting tooth and nail to hold on to the smartphone and tablet market share it creates. Can they hold on to it without Steve Jobs?
