In Honor of a Distinguished Gentleman
I normally would never disclose a private message sent to me. In the case of the late Matt Morgan (@dffapa), though, I’d like to share the first Direct Message he sent me inside The Pelican Room.

When you and the Fly want an “iBankCoin” airplane, you need to give me a shout, I’ve been flying Gulfstreams for 10 yrs…I’m not opposed to coming to NY or NJ for you guys…..we can even get the call sign to say “N1BC.”

I did not know Matt “in real life” (whatever that even means anymore, in this day and age of social media), but that message always made me smile. Although he will not be around to realize that dream, I sure as heck am going to do everything in my power to see to it that one day iBankCoin grows big enough to have our own plane.
Matt was a Distinguished Gentleman (annual member) in both of our services, and our community feeling the pain of his loss just reinforces what we have been building here over the past few years. Despite what castigators on Twitter think about the people running a successful premium service, the fact is that we place much more significance on building a special, tight-knit community here at iBankCoin, in PPT, and especially inside The Pelican Room. Sure, I am proud of my analysis, quality and quantity of content over the years. But, frankly, the work speaks for itself and stands on its own merits.
More importantly, we thrive because quality people like Matt Morgan found a home here. He was always charismatic and had a great enthusiasm for the markets and life in all of my interactions with him. The fact that his loss stings me and many others on this website just illuminates how idiotic a bunch of gossips on Twitter taking shots at successful premium services truly are.
While you have your once-in-a-blue-moon home runs in the stock market after countless blow-ups, we have a tight-knit community that lost one of our own.
Rest in Peace, Matt. I’ll be working even harder to earn that private plane.
