Why didn’t the list the most common reason?
INHERITANCE.
The estate tax should be 100% to make the USA a truer meritocracy.
Thanks, Warren.
Spoken like a true piker with no kids. (Yes homo)
I’m number 401. Am I allowed to give my money to whomever I want when I die or must I give it to corrupt politicians to buy favors?
Great idea, then people could get Obama phones forever.
Rigged, after you guys tax everything from the rich, and eliminate rich people altogether, who then will pay for all the new debt and entitlements?
Riggedgame is more correct than any of you realize. It is simply not part of human nature to deploy personal wealth for the common good, only government can do that consistently. All accumulated wealth should be confiscated and placed under central control. As anyone even on the right well knows, collectivism has always worked just fine for the common defense and infrastructure, and it will work perfectly for health care and other things as we will all soon see, so there is no longer any reason to pretend that “individualism” or “capitalism” has any place in modern society. And yet there are still those who fail (or simply refuse out of selfishness and greed) to observe the obvious, so our work is not done yet. In order to provide President Obama the opportunity to lead us successfully through these final steps, please make sure you are registered to vote, go to your polling place this election day on November 7th, and cast your ballot for an America that we can all finally be be proud of: fair and equal outcomes for all citizens, not just the wealthy.
Blow me, dipshit.
Lol, wait – nov 7th?
Shhhhh!
Riggedgame, did you actually read the Forbes story? Didn’t think so. I went through the first 50; the vast majority are CEOs and ex-CEOs who founded well known companies (Microsoft, Oracle, Bloomberg, Amazon, Google, Dell), or hedge fund founders (Soros, Paulson); a few did LBOs and oil/gas. A couple did inherit their fortune, but a distinct minority.
