Question re: AAPL but probably applies to all high $$ stocks – could the lower volume be attributed to more and more people using options since they can’t really fund big positions in them? Because it’s pretty clear from stocktwits and twitter that a LOT of non-professional traders are now using them – for better or worse…
Good point…I think many retail traders do play options on some of the higher-priced stocks in lieu of common. That said, I think the institutions control the big volume, especially the larger cap/priced stocks.
That’s true. Just wondered if that could effect it even though plenty of people are trading/investing in the name(s). But our little 50/100/200 share blocks can’t move it too much 🙂 (no matter how many people on stocktwis say they are buying a beach house with their cash, I don’t believe it…)
