The relentless selling is spilling over into today’s session, despite the massive intraday reversals across the board yesterday. In the case of the S&P 500, we have technically negated the hammer from yesterday, although a close back above 1234 might ease that blow. The Nasdaq Composite and Russell 2000 are still slightly above yesterday’s hammer lows, though. We are still very stretched the downside as a whole, and panic is starting to come in with the CBOE Market Volatility Index up over 10%.
In sum, I am watching the action just like you, given that we have been and continue to be oversold. Once again, the close today will be very telling, regarding whether something more evil is lurking around the corner, or whether this is a nasty, paingil stabilization process.
